I still don't understand why we need to do this.
PLAY CAMARGO EVERY DAY AT 3B!!!
That being said, I hope he does well and we continue to win. Chop on!

Yeah what exactly does Camargo need to do? He has hit well in pinch-hit spots and spot starts. He plays very good defense at multiple positions.
What are we missing here? Doesn't do good enough bat flips on homers?

I really don't get it. We have two guys between Flaherty and Camargo that are doing just fine with both the glove and the bat...hopefully he proves us wrong since it's going to happen, but I think the other guys have done more than enough to warrant keeping their spot. Good think I'm not making the decision I guess.

I agree I'm not a huge fan for this move. Hope I'm wrong but I don't see Bautista being the guy that puts us over the top this year. I'd rather see some guys play that might be part of the long-term plan....especially since they are both playing well right now.
Would much rather see them address bullpen issues now. I don't get into WAR and advanced metrics but I'm guessing our bullpen is going to cost us more games this year than the wins Joey Bats generates.
Edit: though I will add the fact he was signed to a minor league deal makes it more understandable, basically no risk

I really don;t understand the timing more than anything, the team is hotter than it's been all season and they decide to bring him up now?

Going to my first Suntrust game. Will be out there early.

Exactly. We lead the league in SLG and OPS, so I don't see him bringing anything right now we aren't already doing. Plus I'm guessing his D at 3rd is going to be somewhat of a liability.

On top of that we are third in the MLB in run differential at +57 and 1st in our division with the next closest being the nats at +20. Why tinker with a lineup like that?
Posted on 5/4/18 at 11:28 am to thundercat_3
We tinkered with a lineup that was producing well when we brought up Acuna. It has worked.
Also, we need a DH for 5 games in May. Not that tucker couldn’t have done it.. but if they were ever going to give Bautista a look, now is the time IMO.

Did any of you guys even think twice about Juan Yepez in that Matt Adams trade? I know I didn't, now he's one of our top prospects.
quote:
Peoria Chiefs first baseman Juan Yepez was named minor league Player of the Month for April in the St. Louis Cardinals organization on Thursday.
Yepez leads all minor league hitters with a .442 batting average, and entered Thursday’s game at Dozer Park 83 points ahead of his closest competitor in the Midwest League.
The 20-year-old right-handed hitter hit .438 with a home run and 18 RBIs in April with a 212 wRC+.

I know, he won't be until an update. They are talking him up like crazy this week after getting the player of the month so I checked him out and saw he was part of that deal. Had no idea.

This is the 2nd day in a row Cards fans came to tell us about him
