Lol at Chip calling that a hot shot. It was a one hopper to 2nd. Shouldn't have tried to pull it.

I thought he hit it pretty hard though. Should have made Capuano pay for that 3-1 pitch.

Justin needs to be hitting between Heyward and Freeman. No one in the game has been better against lefties since the start of 2013 (204 wRC+). He will never see any hitting 4th.

I am thinking the ideal lineup is

Heyward
JUp
Freeman
Gattis
CJ
La Stella
BJ
Simmons

I like that lineup. I think it also makes the bottom of the lineup less terrible.

Also, it appears Fredi has given up tonight if Wood is still in.

Hell no. Automatic DP anytime Heyward gets on.

Less is more with CJ

CJ does not belong in the 2 hole. He is getting on base at a sub .280 clip, strikes out a lot and is leading the league in double plays when he does put in play.

You're better off with BJ there than CJ. He has better on base skills, more power and more speed.

Chris Johnson 0.11 BB/K rate.

This lineup just doesn't have very many good hitters to be honest.

Heyward, JUp, Freeman and potentially TLS are the only guys with good approaches up there. Gattis and Simmons are flawed but you can live them because they do at least one thing really well. BJ is headed towards Uggla-ville and CJ is totally useless.

Bench is horrendous as well.

It's a terrible offensive team, which is pretty surprising but I guess should have been predictable.

Gross. Is that the worst out of anyone on the team who gets regular playing time?

Yes. Even Wood and Harang's are better.

"They don't strike out much". They are 4th in the AL in strikeouts, dumbass.

Is there a single thing that he's above average at? He's got no power, bad defense, slow as hell, low OBP, weak contact, hothead, etc.
