I keep getting the feeling that he was never considering a return to ATL

I had that feeling pretty much all of last season. I'm sure if I go back I can dig up posts where I said as much. He just looked like he didn't want to be there. He turned it on during the playoffs but for the majority of the year, I knew he was gone.

Tampa... 6 years $150 mill and NO state income taxes.... again, living in Florida.

I know they're a small market team and almost no one shows up but... they've been competitive a number of times over the years.

Atlanta - 5 years and $140... loaded young roster that's being kept together and added to.

I think it's pretty obvious he wanted LA. And that's ok. He got his ring and his MVP....

Now let's hope he turns into 50 year old Pujols.

DOB just posted a round-table on the athletic with himself, Jim Bowden and 2 others.

I don't have access to the Athletic but I'd be interested to know their take on Freddie signing with the Dodgers.

Per MLB multiple sources.. Freddie Freeman is still gutted about leaving the Braves. Was very, very emotional when speaking with former teammates and those inside the organization. Time will heal his heart, but he's crushed.

I wouldn't be nearly as salty about it if he didn't constantly talk about wanting to be with the Braves for life. Now he just comes off as a liar (to me). I'll always have respect for what he did here to help the Braves win another championship, but I'm going to love watching us make him and the dodgers cry all over again.

They live in California during the off season. They've had a $10m spread in Newport Beach for several years. He is from Orange County and his family still live there.

It's not like he is having to reestablishing his life. He just took a new job that is a closer commute and can sell his other place.

We’re still talking to Soler allegedly.

I wonder if we could move Ozuna if that happens.

If only he signed with the Angels instead.

@JimBowdenGM

Alex Anthopoulus #Braves GM told us the tentative plan is for Ronald Acuna to DH in a regular season game around April 21st and then playing in the OF by May 21st…of course this is just a light frame work but allows us an idea on what the plan is right now.

Figured it was coming but still hated to hear that Freddie was leaving. We were blessed to have Chipper as a lifer and I hoped Freddie would follow in those footsteps. Regardless, Braves legend after last year and just his whole arc with the team.. Does his number eventually get retired?

I’d rather spend the money/prospects on a SP. but if AA signed Soler and somehow got a team to take Ozuna I may just spontaneously combust.

Yeah nobody will ever wear #5 for the Braves again.

Yet according to Dave Roberts he’s never heard anyone more excited to be a Dodger than Frederick. Hmmm

Few thoughts ran through my mind as I was watching NLCS highlights last night.

- That series was probably the most excited I've been watching Braves baseball, even more than the 2 WS

- The Freddie saga is already old and I'm almost glad he's gone

- If the Dodgers end up releasing Bauer would you want him on your team? He and Ozuna could trade stories. Not that I think it'll happen since LAD seems to just buy the best players available and he's still one of the best (I would assume). And I'd think the majority of their fans are already convicts so it wouldn't hurt from a fan appeal stance to keep him.

no thanks on Bauer, part of what made last years run feel so special was how well the team was as an actual team...everyone actually seemed to really get along and like each other and have fun together. Bauer seems like the kind of player that immediately disrupts a locker room because of his narcissism.

MLB Network thinks all these guys better than Austin Riley.
