Current discussion is what the dbacks offer looks like without AJ. One dude said Swanson and Blair. Personally don't think Swanson is in.

From 9am today. Brave Cave hit this one out of the ballpark once again with almost dead on prediction.

The early reviews are in, and they are not good for the Diamondbacks.

"Worst trade I’ve ever seen," one executive said of the D-backs’ acquisition of right-hander Shelby Miller on Tuesday.

"Holy crap for Atlanta," said another.

"Grand slam for the Braves," said a third.

/r/Braves is all that's wrong with the fan base. The majority of people that post there are either unaware of how baseball is played or don't understand how a farm system affects an organization.

I hate r/Braves so damn much

Agreed 150% or just search Braves on Twitter. This thread is the only place I've found were everyone is realistic to some degree.

Coppolella has been a frequent target of criticism for tearing down the Braves, not just from media (moi?), but also from Braves fans. Well, not this time. Fans will love that Swanson is from Kennesaw, Ga., love his bat, love his speed. Blair adds to the endless stable of arms that that Coppolella collects like rare baseball cards.Inciarte will help the Braves better compete in 2016.

Nice little gem in that article

From the Fangraphs article. I am sure there will be more info coming out in the morning.

I don’t need to go into math-y prospect-valuation stuff. Let’s just look at this for what it is. The Diamondbacks are getting three years of a talented pitcher with some room for growth. They’re giving up five years of a pretty good center fielder, and they’re including one of the best position-player prospects, and a legitimately good starting-pitcher prospect. Miller for Inciarte, straight up, might’ve favored the Braves. They got two high-talent prospects, too. No matter how you felt before about the Braves’ rebuild, it just took three steps forward, with the system in phenomenal shape.

If you aren't reading fangraphs, you are missing out on a wealth of information.

I do, but I lost a lot of interest in their player valuation stuff after they ranked Gant as out 2nd or 3rd best prospect.

That was one of their staff members opinion. And are we sure that it was a bad list yet? There is a lot of uncertainty in prospect valuation. He was going by his valuation, not industry consensus. Very likely he will be right on some of his calls and wrong on others, like pretty much everyone in the business.

I believe the guy that wrote the piece was higher on Jose Abreu than almost anyone when he came over and he called J.D. Martinez's breakout. I'm sure he has been wrong before as well, but he seems like a knowledgable guy.

I'm sure he's not just some random guy they pulled off the street. I'm just saying that he didn't even have Kolby Allard or Austin Riley ranked on his initial publication. That just seems wrong go me.

He obviously places value on being higher up in the organization. I get that, but to not even rank those guys almost feels lazy. The only reason he went back and plugged them in at #4 and #6 is because of the outrage from people. If he was really that sure of his evaluation on them, why wouldn't he just defend what he published instead of reranking?

Fair enough, that was a pretty big hiccup. This is a massive project though and he is new, so I'd give him a little leeway. He has very big shoes to feel, but I kind of like that he goes out on so many limbs.

And I certainly wouldn't let that one hiccup to cause me to discount other Fangraphs writers that had nothing to do with that oversight.

FV increases with the closer you are to the ML. He valued FV in a short term sense.
