I think it's pretty obvious that the stop gaps we have in place ain't gonna cut it. Krauss, Carter and Presley just aren't getting it done.

It's time to call em all up and let em play. Singleton, Folty, Stassi now. Appel and Correa in the 2nd half.

Krauss and Presley are AAAA players. Carter is a joke at this point. I mean he's got power sure, but no one is afraid to pitch to him. If you've got a power bat that can hit 35 homers, pitchers should be afraid that he's going to crush one at any time. But pitchers are more certain they'll strike him out.

Seriously, why are you even worried about what the major league guys are doing right now?

Of the 25 men on the big league roster, I'd say that only 5 are still around when the team is ready to contend.

Settle down and be patient.

It's not like you are used to winning titles and shite and now have to deal with losing for the first time ever.

I'm not going to lie, I watched an Astros/Jays game the other night and it was one of the worst exhibitions I've seen both at the plate and in the field. First six batters go up and the Jays pitcher got 5k's. Then an obese Blue Jay stole 2nd off a fastball pitch and solid throw to 2nd.

Y'all bad.

We're in year 4 of the rebuild. It's time to start seeing younger guys take steps forward. Pretty much every one of them has failed to this point in the year. So it looks like franchise is well on its way to being the punchline of the majors again.

Its just now getting to the point that your farm is actually worth a ratfrick.

And be prepared, because you have at least two more years of this shite. Maybe even three or four.

Out of all the guys on the current 25 man roster who do you see being here in 4 years? For me off the top of my head, Altuve, Cosart, Springer, and Castro.

I remember when the Reds were in a similar position.

Trust me, it doesn't ever really get better.

Obie, Keuchel, Dominguez, Villar.

I think MD hangs around because of his defense while providing just enough hitting.

Villar is what..22? He's got all the tools to stick around for a while.

That's 8 players between both of your posts. At least 3 of them wont be there in 3 years, probably more.

But they expect me to pay full prices to drive downtown to see that crap. I haven't seen any discount ticket promotions to try to draw fans to the park. Gonna be empty seats galore for the rest of the season.

I definitely think Obie and Keuchel can hang around for a while. DK seems capable of putting together a nice season and could find a niche as the soft tossing lefty with good contol.

Obie is due for some regression but I think he can be a solid BoR, long relief/spot starter.

Bill Simmons made a point about how the best thing a GM can do to keep his job is sell a rebuild. You basically get 3-4 years of being terrible before you start to feel any heat. He was talking about the NBA, but it obviously applies to the MLB as well. Luhnow and Crane are just laughing to the bank.

Remember how bad the Pirates were for so long? Get ready to see your team sell their one or two good players to stockpile more picks and prospects.

This would be tolerable if the prospects had any chance of getting to the show within five years. If it hadn't been for the media pressure, Springer would still be in AAA because of the contract issues.

WHERE oh WHERE is that supposed great farm system we've heard about on here...for what, like the past 4-5 yrs. ?
I think we're just seeing the astros and cubs, continuing to milk the MLB tv contract AND their gullible fans.IF, you still get the money and the fans keep coming back like sheep...where's the real incentive to do better ???????
