This is a great interview on the mind of Maddux. Loved his thought on wasting a pitch when up 0-2. Making a competitive pitch up 0-2 is what a most of pitchers lack in college. Anderson has really good command. Love watching him really pitch. The Bama closer yesterday was maxing out around 90. His command and deception was really good.
Not wasting pitches and pitching to weak contact is how you pitch a compete game in less than 80 pitches. He pitched also fielded his position the best I’ve seen in my years.

I know defensive minded chicks dig the strikeout but damn it’s a thing of beauty when a SP runs through a game with a bunch of second and third pitch pop ups and ground outs.

But how is my Easton Blake (insert last name) going to get drafted as a Sr in high school by just winning games? It's all about the velo and K's!
