They were lucky to inherit such a great course and event. They have made the in person experience amazing (from all accounts - I'm waiting for my free tickets after I get my GCSSA certification later in life), but I think it's time to make the at home fan feel just as appreciated as those who were lucky enough to travel to the hallowed grounds. Going to Augusta will never lose its mystique. Expanded coverage certainly won't change that.

8 hours of air time is too much. What people don't know is the time required pre and post round to get everything set up, make sure it works as advertised, and rehearse. You're looking at 12 - 15 hours for the behind the scenes folks.

they cover amen corner, 15/16, and have two featured groups that show just about the entire course ... they have to keep at least some of it restricted ...

Hey. The maintenance staff and volunteers will be looking at similar hours. Im sure the Augusta crew sees many 12 hour days in advance weeks and week of the tournament.

Why do they have to?

Yea, but if they make a mistake, it's not seen & heard by millions.

Id disagree there. Make a mistake applying a pesticide or fertilizer even weeks before and a green could be unrepairable by tournament time. They could alter possible pin locations by a mowing mistake. Any number of things could happen that would affect the tournament watched by millions.

Will be up that way July 11,12,13 at Ballyneal with MNC and maybe one other poster, waiting on them to decide.

BS, look at the greens at Quail Hollow a few years ago

Nice. Keep me posted. They are unfortunately a bit tight on guest play for us lowly grounds crew at the country club, but we can find a round somewhere if you have time in Denver. If not golf, a beer and whatever else you might find in CO.

We are looking at Riverdale Dunes course on the way to or from Bally as a maybe, played it yet? Looks real good.

Have not. I'm south of the city so haven't gone up that way yet. No shortage of courses around here though. Playing a course in Aurora near the airport today. Not a bad track. Kinda surrounded by housing but still a good course.
I'm ready to check out some mountain courses this summer. Be ready to be frustrated with distances due to altitude. Takes some adjusting.

The scores appear to be higher today with the groups that have started. 11 players above par, 5 at par, and 9 under par be my count.
