Yea, he’s playing lights out.
I just don’t see one of these Americans ever having a round like Rose on a course like this. 1-9 GIR and only +1 on the day. That’s grinding at it’s best.

Yeah Stenson is the same way it seems like. That shot he just hit being a perfect example

DQ’d for knowing the rules and using them to his advantage?
leave it to the usga to write shitty vague rules and then blame the players when there’s a controversy or gray area.

Shinnecock Hills is one hell of a golf course, the best in the U.S. This is one of the most interesting tournaments I've ever seen.
The USGA will soften the greens tonight to satisfy the whiners.

He intentionally broke the rule to benefit his score on the hole. He'll be Dq'd or will withdraw before starting tomorrow

berger and finau could be leaders by end of day

This course is just broken at this point, pars are definitely birdies now.

And was assessed a two shot penalty per the rule. End of story.

His comments were so bizarre. He admitted he cheated. Maybe there’s nothing in the rulebook that explicitly explains every different way you can cheat but what he described was cheating. You don’t intentionally hit a moving ball to improve your score.

Poulter dropping back to back birdies. Crown his arse.

which rule? the one about intentionally stopping the rolling ball or the one about hitting a moving ball? they are two separate things in the rule book and have two separate penalties.
again, they need to look at themselves if they don’t like what he did. and i do suspect there might be an adjustment to the writing of those rules after this.
i love how when dustin johnson grounded his club at the pga in 2010 or other controversial rulings, you hear people say “welp, you gotta know the rules you’re a pro golfer it’s your job.” now a guy does know the rules and tried to use them to his advantage and it’s suddenly a problem?

Sure you can, and it’s a two shot penalty

I am surprised there hasn't been a suicide at a US Open. These courses/setups are psychologically brutal.

Not gonna happen, but would love to see all leaders fall back to make Mickelson’s bitch move on 13 look like genius on Sunday.
