Don't sacks detract from passing yardage in the NFL?

Believe they do.

Pretty sure they do

Texas Tech should also take note. They could put up some serious points on the Horns in Lubbock.

Total Yards:
220 - OU
62 - UT
Average Gain Per Play:
7.9 - OU
3.6 - UT
Things are looking ugly for Texas so far. Down 10-21 to OU, 2nd Quarter.

That would actually make more sense.

I had always heard that they do. I really think it's idiotic either way. As SFP said, they should be their own stat, and they say more about the O-line than the quarterback obviously.

From wikipedia:
quote:
In the NFL, yards lost on the play are added as negative yardage to the team's passing totals; however, the quarterback's individual passing total remains unchanged. Before that change in record keeping, tackling a player behind the line of scrimmage resulted in a loss from that player's (passing) statistics, even if it were fairly obvious a rush play had been intended.

I can't wait for that game. This is probably the last yr Tech has a real shot at beating UT in Austin (before Muschamp has his shite together).

Then what's to blame. It's not like there's a shortage of talent.

Gresham for all his hype is really not that impressive

Never seen a team jump offsides when the other team is in the shotgun like OU is doing so far.

yeah in 2006 chizik had 2, 1st rounders and a guy with first day talent (brown) and they were ranked in the 100s

Only when they gave him his own side of the fricking field.

if Texas doesn't score on this drive... It'll get ugly. Mark my words.
Shipley's carrying this team...

how come every time someone gains 1 yard Musberger ALWAYS says "he got NO MORE than 1 yard on that play."
