arrakis, you seem to be harboring some deep resentment towards ULM..

No resentment; just enjoy laughing at a joke of a program.

I mean, you are trying to hide it with veiled insults, but its pretty obvious that some ULM grad hammered your wife(or probably ex-wife)..

The best you have is some weak arse high school insult?

so please stop with your stupid fricking comments..

What have I said about ULM that is not accurate? Truth hurt much?

O the irony.
A ULM Tard criticizing Tech's attendance. The same ULM that's begging for a gate and the same ULM that can't outdraw local high schools and the same ULM that can't meet the NCAA minimum.

Further evidence the Tech bashing is really Tech envy.

Anyone know if West Monroe's JV attendance is larger than ULM's?

Nothing about wins and losses. Why?

We've already covered that. Tech has dominated ULM in the history of the programs. ULM has not had a winning season in the past 17 seasons. Blah, blah, blah...

So how many times has Tech beaten ULM this decade? Keep in mind that decades start in the -01 year.

Simple. W/L depends on strength of schedule while attendance is a constant....one ticket per fan; or in ULM's case, a lack thereof.

Since you brag about how efficient ULM's program is run (Wins per $), why not take a few bucks and buy full page ads in the visiting team's home newspaper asking them to bring as many fans as possible. Something along the lines of:

quote:

We need your fans at our game because ours won't show up.

They haven't played. That means they didn't beat them, but it doesn't mean they weren't able to beat them. They just chose not to.

Right. Because Tech backed out. When I put up my dukes, and you back away, and we're pretty much the same size, you're a coward.

And in the last 30 years, Tech has fallen half the time that they've met.

Of course, we all agree that Tech is afraid of being viewed as ULM's equal (which they basically are).

really, please let it die. There is no way you believe what you are saying. Even though you are from Rocky Brainch (which I love with all my Union Parish heart)you are pushing this way too far.

Tech is drunk with a combination of elitism and the fear of losing to ULM, and they think that this will hurt them. It will not. When you're not in a BCS conference, and you're 4-8, nobody cares who you played, and nobody cares who beat you.

If you're not in a BCS conference, and you're 8-4, nobody cares who you played, and nobody cares who beat you.

Has not playing ULM hurt ULM? Slightly.
Has not playing ULM helped Tech? Not in the least.

Therefore, Tech's unwillingness to play ULM is completely stupid and robs fans in north Louisiana of what could be a great regional rivalry.

I believe everything I've just typed, and I like rephrasing it with profanity so as to poke fun of Tech.

I'm from West Monroe. I've been through Rocky Branch a few thousand times, though.

Try and disagree, logically, with anything in the quote above.

ok.

quote:

disagree. More than slightly. ULM longs for a home and home with Tech because a game against Tech at ULM would most likely bring out (Tech) fans and they would have a decent crowd for the first time in years. ULM "fans" still wouldn't care.

quote:

Has not playing ULM helped Tech? Not in the least.

How has it hurt Tech? Didn't play ULM last year and made a bowl game. Didn't play ULM this year and attendance was higher than its been in years. 4-8, no shot at a bowl game and still averaged 20,000 fans at home. ULM went 6-6 and had an outside shot at playing in a bowl and still generated no excitement among their "fanbase." ULM students and alum as well as Monroe residents have robbed current generations and future generations of what could be built into an annual competitor for a lower tier bowl game because those people refuse to even support their school enough for the school to meet NCAA attendance requirements.

At least Tech is spending money to raise themselves from the bottom of NCAA ranks. All of the athletic venues have been improved in some way shape or form, the football stadium is in line for a massive overhaul and fan support and interest is higher than it has ever been despite a 4-8 season. Tech, in the past, like ULM has been content with being a bottom feeder in athletics. No money was spent as venues crumbled and fell into shitty condition. Tech may never turn itself into a Boise or even a Fresno State type but at least the athletic department is trying to make this place a more attractive school for recruits. ULM is content to do nothing until they get knocked out of FBS.

Tech doesn't need ULM and doesn't care about ULM. If fact, the lack of attendance proves ULM's fans don't care about ULM. Like I posted earlier, ULM is on it's way to being NSU v2.0
That is the simple logical truth.

Guess what....your opinion doesn't count.
But, if you are so obsessed, go beg Tech's AD to schedule ULM and let us know how it goes.
