I hope ULM surpasses Tech. Tech needs to stop being snobs to their twin.

The problem is ULM needs the game much more so than Tech
....and the reason for the ULM butthurt.
Desperate to get a gate so they aren't forced into the lower classification. They envy Tech for not being in the same situation.

ULM probably won't pass Tech because the university is just not very good...

I think both universities have complexes:
a) Tech is a small-medium sized school that is located in Ruston - a small town. This makes Tech fans feel that ULM feels superior.
b) ULM is located in the heart of a city and still is equal to or less than Tech. Tech also is in a "better and bigger" conference, which makes ULM wonder how a school from Ruston can get a nod over themselves.
c) One thinks the other is better and more competitive; the other wants the former to put up or shut up and play. Something's gotta give. In any case, both are way out of their elements at the present time.

It may be down for a while. Especially since the season is over.
But it will never die. I'll help see to it. Who's with me???

What's better? Tech basketball or ULM basketball?

It's about wins and losses, and ULM is a better football team than Tech right now. Tech is afraid of losing to ULM.

Overall, you feel that NLU is head and shoulders above Tech in all sports or football? I don't know about that.

As far as the other sports, no idea right now. My ESPN Scorecenter app tells me ULM's scores in men's and women's basketball, and things aren't too peachy there; I have no idea what's going on in Ruston. My guess is that pretty much nobody else does, either.

Don't know their records. But Tech beat ULM a couple of weeks ago(men's bball). Tech won 76-73 on a last second 3-pointer in Monroe. Over 4K in attendance. Imagine what a football game would bring attendence wise.

That's a good night in Ewing.

A sell-out every time. I don't get why they cannot just make this happen. I remember the game at Tech in '97...great game and down to the wire and the place was a buzz all afternoon...comparable to a low key SEC game...still good stuff and Troy Edwards showcased.

I was at that game too. One of the best college games I've been to. Thought ULM was going to pull it out. But I remember having a bad feeling at the end when Tech got the ball back one last time. Rattay passes to Edwards in the flat were killer.

The most insane Tech/NLU game I ever attended was back in '86 in a sold out Ewing as the Lady Techsters lost to the eventual Final 4 Lady Indians. The boys games that season prior were very intense and brought a lot of fans - Karl Malone and Willie Simmons vs. Bobby "Slammajamma" Jenkins. Still, the girls game was packed and not an empty seat. GREAT times.
