I don't think y'all get in in 2012. I think the playoff would've been:
COTTON BOWL: #3 Oregon vs. #2 Alabama
ORANGE BOWL: #4 Kansas State vs. #1 Notre Dame
Maybe the committee would've treated Notre Dame like 2014 FSU and put them below #1 despite them being the only unbeaten P5 team in the country.

Going back to BCS days, the state of Alabama won 4 straight, and Auburn was in the game the year that FSU won. Bama in 2009, Auburn in 2010, then Bama in 2011-2012.
