What other teams have refused to better themselves in the different leagues?
Baltimore wouldn't trade Elway within in the divison.

Not only is it same division but they play in the same building. No way that happens

I can understand the Lakers not wanting to take even the one percent chance that Howard is motivated and blows up next season, considering not only would he be going to a division rival but staying in the same damn building.
Very little upside and waaaaay too much downside pulling the trigger on that.
ETA: Missed dropping my fresh new angle by one minute to uga.

Pats traded Bledsoe to the Bills
Fleeced those jagoffs in that one

It's become a real f@gged out theme in MLB & NFL trading also..
I miss the days of real men HCs and GMs like Whitey Herzog, Billy Martin, Jim Finks, Al Davis Jr, Billy Cunningham,etc..
Today's media coverage has made wusses of owners, GMs, HCs, etc..worried about any move coming back to haunt them, and/or risking their modern era obscene salaries before it's natural timelines.

I would be tempted to take that if I'm the Lakers. They need youth more than anything plus, Griffin and Bledsoe doesn't screw up their free agent plan for 2014. L.A. will be fricked if Howard walks because even will all that cap space, I highly doubt LeBron would even consider them without another superstar already there.

LeBron isn't going to LA nor does LA want LeBron. The media there would chew his arse up and spit him out.

cause the lakers seem to be one of a few teams who know what competitive suicide is. and they are a win now team. like...win titles! "so, to hell with giving you an opportunity to be better than me."
But if you think the move will win you a title why would they be so obsessed over a divisional rival
If you can't beat them you're not going to win it all anyway

Idk if he wants LA but they do want him. He's the big prize of the 2014 offseason and LA has made sure they have the cap space for Lebron.

LeBron isn't going to LA. If he does leave Miami, I'll only buy into two places: Cleveland which will have a top 5 point guard in Kyrie, and two solid near all-star quality starters in Dion Waters and Tristan Thompson, and will have a quality center then too. The darkhorse would be Dallas if they don't get Paul, Howard, or another franchise centerpiece between now and then. Cuban's history with doing whatever it takes to put a competitive team on the court speaks for itself.
Having said that, there is a 99% chances that LeBron is in either a Heat or Cavs jersey come Opening Day 2015.

People who act like Lebron is going to abandon the Heat like he did the Cavs are as stupid as those who thought Saban would leave Bama because he left LSU and Miami. They are both in great spots right now (the best in their respected leagues). The reasons they left the other places were for greener pastures. Bama will win at least 3 of the next 10 titles
and Miami will always be competitive with Riley in charge.

lebron would like nothing better than to go back to cleveland and repair his image and bring them a title.
He left because cleveland was not willing to surround him with superstars like the heat did.
dwade is in a downward decline due to health and injuries and chris bosh is not the same player he was in toronto.
I could see wade retiring soon if his health doesn't improve, lebron leaving and the heat being stuck with bosh or trading him for other younger players and starting their rebuilding in 2015.

I can see him doing this in the twilight of his career but not his prime. He loves the Miami night life too.

Do you know how many teams would kill to be "stuck" with Bosh as a 2nd option?
