Agreed.. but my comment was more directed at the guy who said ‘Thailand is nice to live if you have money’.. my feelings, no, the facts- are the opposite.. it’s incredibly cheap to live in most parts of Thailand.. whereas i have been feeling for several years now that i am getting priced out of America .. and lately, it’s gotten worse .

I haven’t been in a decade, but I spent 3 weeks there living like an absolute king for about 1/3 the cost of a weeklong trip to Hawaii staying in a hotel room.

Talking 2-3k sq ft oceanfront villas with private pools, staff to cook for us for $250-400 a night. I rented a condo in Bangkok, 2/2 with a monster private terrace that was larger than the apartment and it was like $150. Hired a driver for a 12 hour day to take us out of the city exploring all kinds of shite and the bill was $75. I gave the guy $150 and he nearly shite himself.

Most expensive thing we did was charter a private speedboat to pick us up at airport in Koh Samui and take us to koh Phangan, then 4 days later come back and get us, take us on the water all day, and drop us in Koh Tao at days end. Lunch included. Stopped at ton of uninhabited islands, snorkeled. It was like $600.
