Get a good power hitting first baseman and a defensive shortstop and that could be a solid starting lineup.

Yes. Follow it well.

And that is a SHITTY rotation period. Dickey is the only guy I would even want to hand the ball to to start a game.

Bats are fine that you listed except there are a better options at 3rd than David Wright.

The rotation is garbage though.

Pacheco was the only American that had a higher batting average than Wright last season, but Wright has a better OPS and OBP.

Vogelsong was decent last year, but shite he pitched in the NL in San Fran. And his stats weren't even that great until he had a strong October.

Dickey is the only starter I see I would trust to start a game.

Look at our rotation for the last WBC. It sucked arse and we got crushed.

Then go back and look at 2006. It wasn't a great rotation, but it was good and it had Clemens who was dominant.

The best we can do now is one really good pitcher in Dickey and one decent pitcher in RV? That is horseshite and we will have to out slug every team we play which won't happen.

Put Stras and Hamels in the rotation and I am happy. You have to have 3 stud pitchers to have a shot.

Stras will never happen though. Hell, I would take Medlen, Sabathia or even Josh Johnson.

Give me 2 or 3 of those along with Dickey and I'm happy.

Vogelsong had a 3.37 era last year in the NL in a pitchers park. And only 158 Ks. That is a quality year, but nothing fricking special. I had him on my fantasy team off and on. Kept dropping him when he faced a good team with good bats.

Do not want him in the rotation with so many better options. Wait and see though. He will not dominate anyone.

Oh yeah Vogelsong = career 4.34 ERA, all in the NL.

Your clueless talking him up.

He also had an ERA and whip just north of 1 in the post season last year for a World Series winning team.

lol

Vogelsong has been a completely different pitcher the last couple of years. Have you ever watched him pitch? He is really fricking good, and incredible with runners on base. I would definitely trust him.

Also, look at his splits last year (his second best season of his career).

The only parks his ERA was less than 3.00 were:

AT&T
Safeco
Dodger Stadium
Turner
Busch

All pitcher's parks except for Busch. Take him out of a pitcher's park and he isn't very impressive. He got destroyed pitching for the Pirates with an ERA over 6.00 his last 2 seasons. Put him in the AL and you are talking a very average pitcher with an ERA between 4 and 5 depending on which team you put him on.

Because he is in a major pitcher's park dumbass.

Hell, Heath Bell was all fricking world at Petco too.

Like I said, look at his stats away from AT&T. Very average.

We should be getting the best pitchers in MLB for this team Vogelsong isn't one of them. Period.

So he's only good if his era is under 3?

Him pitching for the pirates is irrelevant. Do you not know his story?
