I wouldn't do that exact deal.

I don't think it helps me, just shuffles some positions around.

Besides, if I were to deal Pujols, I'm pretty sure I could get geauxlsu07's first born child in addition to Jose Reyes.

isnt that the point

it doesnt really "help" either of our teams, but it gives us a wider position pool in our keepers

i see the trade as a wash really, but i really would like to gain a first baseman and if i got lackey, GAME frickING OVER in pitching

i would sacrifice the steals just to get lackey

go look at the steals total and power total in this deal

i just thought this deal worked well for both of us

I think losing Lackey would hurt me worse than gaining Ichiro's steals, to be honest. My pitching staff isn't really deep, the more I look at it, I think it would be a mistake for me to trade him away without adding a third starter somewhere. My other two guys are really young.

Maybe I'm trying too hard to make a move when I should be content to see how the Tejada situation plays out and stick with Willingham. I traded to get him last season in order to keep him, after all.

Maybe if some other deals are made we can come back to it, but I think I'm gonna sleep on it for now.

Holiday/Ichiro/Pedroia for Pujols/Beltran/Lackey.

I think we're running in circles on this one, though.

Les, got any sleeper pitchers and/or middle infielders you want to trade?

Well that would obviously change things.

I'm about to crash, but I'll be on e-mail tomorrow if you want to throw some more ideas around with Johan involved.

Obviously your end-goal is Pujols, right?

When I thought about it, I don't like the idea of starting the season with only Price and Morrow as SPs. Lackey is too valuable to me for that reason.

depends what u call a sleeper

Wigginton or Guzman in the middle, though im not sure if Wiggs has middle inf elig any more

Ethier/Ross or Nelson Cruz in the OF. All 3 of them are pretty nice sleepers, IMO.

Andrew Miller at P

or Aaron Cook or Ben Sheets if u want to deal with his BS
