Is that robbery story that's been making the rounds on the poker boards? I didn't click on it but there was a thread on 2+2 today.

Two men who police believe were trying to rob people at a high-stakes poker game in Raleigh late Monday were shot during a struggle, and one died, police said Tuesday. Officers responding to a reported robbery at 4809 Sweetbriar Drive, off East Millbrook Road, shortly after 11 p.m. found Brandon Dwain Shelton, 28, dead inside the house, and Brian Matthew Onley, 23, lying on the lawn with a gunshot wound in the arm.

High stakes my arse. It was a 1/2 game with a 50 buck MTT once a week according to some guys that play there.

The non-poker player's view of what is high stakes, and the poker players view of it are way different. Like the 10K buy in at the WSOP. Most outsiders look at that as an impossible dream.

That's some Doyle Brunson shite. Take the hijackers own gun from them and shoot em dead.

Found this little nugget today. Gus Hansen with hair, Chip Reese, Brunson when his hair was still black, Phil Ivey, Barry Greenstein with hair. Just awesome old school footage of the big game. Too bad the narrator knows shite about poker.

Champ did you see Dario Minieri skin Hellmuth last week on the Big Game, and then call him on his shite?
Little five foot nothing wasn't backing down.

Just finished 181 out of 1200 AJ vs AK on a 2-A-6 board. Sad thing is I knew he had better then me and I still couldn't fold it.

that last episode was hilarious Hellmuth finally got ahead and fell apart big time.
He started to try that limping in cutesy trapping tournament play stuff and got caught big time playing against better cash players. I mean even though he won the way he played JT with that wet board was just painful, and the transparent Hollywood. Minieri didn't stay in because he thought he had the best of it. He knew he was beat but Phil kept giving him the right odds to keep taking cards.
And is Phil Hellmuth the only person still wearing a hip length black leather coat? I haven't see one of those since about 1998.
