tcu should have capitalized.
and lsu lost 2 games, but they had 4 wins that year better than any win tcu has had the last decade.
call it what you want. they were lucky, but they also won the sec outright and beat a damn good team to win it all. that is the system in place, and they took advantage

TCU winning in Oklahoma in 2005? One of only two teams to win there since Stoops took over.

No. Why?
utah is 2-0 in bcs games, has finished in the bcs top 10 twice, they recruit in the 30s and have never won a national title. seems elite to me

how many games did OK lose that year? 4 or 5? i forget

4 i think but i remember one was on a terrible call on a TD by Tech on the last second, but still that's impressive considering OU had Adrian Peterson no one goes in there and wins.

and how sad is it that is their best win in the last 10 years? beating a 4 loss team by a couple of points in the first game of the year.

If you're going to be a smart-arse, you should be a little more up-to-date.

Pretty bad, but how many shots have they had at top tier programs? I remember they got pounded by Texas a few years ago but that's about it. I wouldn't count TTU. It's a no-win situation to schedule them.

okla has also skull fricked them recently
really they don't play enough good teams to even say they can compete with top tier programs

I just wish they could have joined the Big 12, i have a feeling that geography is going to work against them in the BE.

2007 was mainly by default, losing to Arkansas and Ky is hardly an elite type season.
To be fair, both were quality teams that season.
However, you guys pissed me off that season. Had so much talent, yet never really seemed to put it all together and truly dominate the hell out of an opponent. You still managed to get a national title out of it and no one can really say you didn't earn it.

The longest plane ride they'll have to take will be about 4 hours.

they would have never played in a BCS bowl again had they joined the big 12. they know the money is in the lowly bigeast

Utah has more BCS wins than TCU.
But you're right, TCU is definitely elite and they are not

You are right about the airports. I hope they can add some other CUSA teams maybe just in FB and split it into East and West divisions, i'm kind of a geography nazi.

The same Oklahoma team that went 8-4, were beaten by 33 by Texas, by 17 by UCLA, and by 2 by Texas Tech?
Before the Rose Bowl, TCU had never defeated a 10 win BCS team.

1. they havent won one, much less even made it to the game
elite programs win championships
Accoording to you, these are the only elite teams over the past 5 years:
Auburn
Alabama
Florida
LSU
Is Ohio State elite? They haven't won a BCS title since 2002. If so, then Miami must be elite since they won one in 2001. Also, Tenn must be elite since they won one in 1998.
TCU has been a top 5 team the past 3 years, but the BCS CG does not reward top 5 teams....only the top 2.
Out of 120 FBS teams, your criteria to be elite is the top 1.2% of all teams. Even including teams that make it to the tile game, it's the top 2.4%.

When the two biggest wins in the last 50-60 years of your program have been a win against a 8-4 Oklahoma team and hanging on at the last minute against Wisconsin, you are nowhere near an elite program.
We beat a 10 win Alabama squad and an 8 win Florida squad this year. We stacked?
