NY Yankees vs Washington Nationals would have had zero appeal beyond the East Coast.

I don't like the Astros, at all, but there's nothing wrong with those players. They're good guys especially Springer. I hate that I like him.

Houston vs. D.C. is going to do just fine rating wise. There's actually more star power in this series than there would have been in a Yanks/STL series but the league and the networks do a piss poor job of promoting it. Instead of profiling Bregs or Soto they'll probably do another segment where Arod and Papi relive Yanks/Sox playoff games.

Side note. I didn't watch a single pitch of the WS last year because I hate both those teams. Nobody to root for. I think there's a lot of fans that feel that way. Big markets sound good but I think having 2 heels in the WS actually eliminates some viewers.

Double bonus for me. Astros are in it and there isn't a hateable team like the red sox, yankees or dodgers there.

True but they don’t have souls so they don’t really count.

Eh I loved it last year
You had the top two teams in the league

I hate both but watched the shite out of that one

The ones I didn’t watch, when it was like Texas St Louis

I can’t stand the Astros. It’s because of the name in the front of the jersey. I grew up in Astros territory. My dad was a huge Astros fan and then snapped when they traded away one superstar too many. This would have been 70’s to 80’s.

Because of that, I disliked Houston. I think the fan base is very bandwagon-ish. That one World Series title a couple of years ago brought fans out of the woodwork. Even the prior playoff trip didn’t do that.

Sounds like your dad was a bandwagon fan.

I didn't watch any last year as well.

I watched the majority of 2016 rooting for the Cubs to finally break the curse, and I watched every bit of 2017.

Dodgers/Red Sox had no interest for me.

I love big markets
But that’s just how I am

Big markets, big banks, big pharmaceutical

Everything big

Let’s go!

There's also a bit of fatigue factor for me.

In 2018 the Astros were in it up until the WS, so I'd been watching a lot of playoff baseball. With them out, whatever, it's football season.

In 2016 the Astros weren't in the playoffs, so I didn't watch much of the early rounds and then was pumped for the World Series.

If the Astros had lost to the Yankees this year, I probably wouldn't be watching much of the world series.

I mean Houston and DC are big markets so not sure what everyone is complaining about

Also, fair enough you just like the Astros
I don’t hate any team, just hate bandwagon fans
Like people not from NY that root for the Yankees
Or people with no Bama connection pulling for Bama etc

Yes, but when the Astros aren't involved I'll usually find another team to cheer on in the post-season.
