Yes and no. Evangel's QB broke his wrist last week. From what I see, STM needs to improve greatly before the playoffs. Neville is 2 touchdowns better right now.

STM will fizzle out in playoff time. They do it every year, they always start out so strong and flop. Quaterfinals .. No more. also evangel is giving the game away. should be much closer..

Man they put up 41 with their best player gaining 10 yards total. If you didny have 20 posts id make a ban bet that theyll get passed the quarters

STM has been to the semis in 2004, 2007, 2010

Of course evangel gave 3 tds away
No way STM had anything to do with it

And choked. If evangel doesn't have turn overs it's much closer.. Neither teams impressed me tonight. They don't have the players they had last year and I don't think they have the athletes. I will be the first person to say I was wrong if they make it. But STM never goes all the way in the playoffs .. They peak early.

Evangel is such a shell of what they were in the late 90's / early 00's.

I wonder what it could be. Recruiting. No

Division 1 athletes? Neither looked good tonight. We will see what STM is made of when they play breaux bridge.

STM is gonna make a run in the playoffs no doubt, and yes they have great athletes.. their Oline and CB play is the weakness of the team and need to improve if they want to get to state

Eta: when STM drums Breaux Bridge it'll show you why discipline is more important than D1 athletes

And then after they drum breaux bridge they will meet them again in the playoffs and lose ... 31-0? To a team with a bunch of athletes

Watching both play. Neville's lines are better as well as the fact they have Diarse. The kid is legit as legit gets. He'll be one of the top 2-3 recruits in the state next year. He's exceptional, but they don't lean on him like most high schools with an elite prospect. He gets his touches obviously since he's the QB, but they don't force feed it to him and limit their offense. Against 5A Ruston, Neville let off the gas and won 42-6. The next week against 4A Woodlawn Sh, another short night and 51-0 win. Against another 5A foe Ouachita, a top 7 team in 5A that was honestly underrated imo, another 34-29 win on the road. The offense will score in bunches and the D is more than capable of containing any offense in the state.

Keep in mind this is coming from someone that was raised to loathe all things Neville. They might be the best team in the state this year period. Yeah I know West Monroe beat them 21-13 in the jamboree, but Neville was on the goal line when time ran out. Play the last 18 minutes and I'm not sure WM wins.

Calvary splitting the talent level and money hurt them

Scandals hurt them

Coaching upheaval hurt them

Moving to 2A hurt them

Nobody wanting to play them hurt them
