Catholic has a great shot this year. Saw them in their victories against Istrouma and McKinley and they looked solid. Granted the competition was inferior but they were not making stupid mistakes like last year. The kicker is awesome and I hope LSU is looking at him.

boy was I wrong

STM 14
CHS BTR 10

it could have been CHS 40 STM 0 the way the game started out

but curious play calling by CHS and stout defense by STM turned the game around

why does CHS insist on running the option with a slow footed pocket passer with a cannon arm? Didn't make any sense at all

next up for STM: Evangel

if you take away the first 5 minutes of the game, Catholic scores no points.

horrible, horrible play calling by Catholic,Dale is calling horrible plays. Conservative, running an option offense with a pure pocket passer, Poor Oliver is a good qb and potential to be great but Dale is handcuffing this kid and is getting killed by Weiners playcalling

Sounds like it was a hell of a game.. Catholic football has lost its luster in recent years with the success of other private schools in the area (PBS, Redemp, CLA, ETC..)

I am still blown away that they are trying to run the option with Oliver. He should have had 30 attmpts and 250+ yds passing against STM on friday night. he could have thrown the out route under our coverage and the seam route through our coverage and picked up 7yrds at a pop.

Instead they tried to spread out the STM defense and use an average running QB with a rifle arm as a pitchman?

I just don't get it.

It's not surprising to anyone who has seen Catholic play on even a semi-regular basis. Dale Weiner might be one of the worst offensive play callers in the state, especially considering the talent he has to work with.
