The rule was cited incorrectly. The refs have the discretion to blow their whistles to protect obviously injured players. Had the puck bounced right to the front of the goal, and the Blues put it in, whatever. But the puck went all the way to the blue line while Bishop was in a heap. The refs should have blown their whistles, using the discretion granted them under the rules.
It was a legal goal, but pretty f'n cheap. And the hockey gods have a way of punishing those who honor the letter of the law yet violate the spirit. It doesn't mean the Blues will lose Game 7, but some cosmic disaster is coming for them to balance the scales. The hockey gods are cruel, and they will demand payment at the worst possible time. And probably completely out of proportion to their original sin.

Just checking in now on this. End of the first was a frenzy. I see Bos had a goal disallowed and CBJ hit a crossbar. Jackets need a goal on this PP.

Bruins gooning it up. What else is new?
How the hell is that not the same or worse than the Pavelski call? That was intentional and incredibly obvious. Bruins are the most unlikeable team in hockey.

Anderson looks like Ricky from Trailer Park Boys
What a shot to the chops that was

That's a fricking joke.
So they dont handle things in game(Marchand and McAvoy) or out of game(Marchand).
Great work.
All around great.
"Must protect the players" unless one is down in the middle of the ice with a clear puck to the face (Werenski vs Pit).
Great stuff.

Has anyone filed a missing persons report for Cam Atkinson yet?
Posted on 5/6/19 at 7:57 pm to KosmoCramer
If Anderson was the checker there he would have got 5 game misconduct and be suspended for any possibly Game 7.

If you don’t think the fix is on...

I honestly think the San Jose thing affected them on that call and they figure further punishment can get doled out later. Excuse my ignorance, but is there a reason they couldn't take a middle ground approach and just go with a double minor?

@treed1919
Jody Shelley, who’s working between the benches, just said in an interview broadcast throughout the building that the referees told the #CBJ bench that they didn’t see the hit.
eta. One of the first comments to that tweet is a picture of a ref staring straight at the hit with a perfect view

How do you call a penalty if you never saw it?
Posted on 5/6/19 at 8:09 pm to tress4pres
Anderson has to be in auto concussion protocol right?
That needs to be part of penalty decisions.
The penalty was a clear major with game misconduct. But even erroring on the aide of, ok that guy is out for concussion protocol, we better send this guy out too.
