They allowed my student to die today. She had severe TBI from a hit and run. First time I’ve had a student die.

I'm genuinely sorry to hear about the student. Life is fragile and sadly, we get reminders like that on a daily basis.
All the more reason that getting triggered over anything to you see on an INTERNET MESSAGE BOARD is beyond insipid.
Shitposting and talking trash is fun and not meant to be taken seriously. Here's to hoping that you learn that someday. Sports are the same way. Cheer for your team, enjoy the games...but it's NOT life or death. Never was meant to be.

But I am triggered by having to tell a class of students their classmate died because some a-hole ran a red light and hit her and boyfriend on a moped while they were looking for prom picture spot for tomorrow.
I am triggered by having to tell a bunch of kids that I can’t give them answers on how to cope as that’s my job with them as long as teaching.
I have to be one cold sonofabitch tomorrow and show no emotions
It’s the reason I’m venting in here to get it out

Again, my sympathies about the student, her friends and her family. I'll say a prayer for her soul and for her friends and loved ones tonight...and for you to have strength in how you handle the news personally and handle telling it to the class.
That said, it's not the first time that I easily triggered you...and I suspect that it won't be the last. Don't dish it out if you can't take it back, Nancy. I'd say that given the circumstances...it's best to put the smack talk aside for another day and concentrate on what's more important. Games / message board smack are woefully insignificant compared to lives and loved ones.

yeah.. I don't mind boston as much as most on here, I was in boston for their 2011 Stanley Cup run, but im rooting for the leafs here. that franchise needs a series win.
