This reminded me of late 80's-early 90's Blues/Hawks games. Highly intense. Only difference is that there aren't fights in the stands......yet.

Thus far, 3 / 4 games went to OT and 3 / 4 road teams won. Only the Capitals won at home.

Tomorrow gives us Game 2 of Caps / Bruins along with Game 1's for Predators at Hurricanes and Blues at Avalanche.

Before today's game, you could easily get 2 / 1 on the Wild to win the series with VGK. Even now, VGK are huge favorites for Game 2 and still slight favorites to win the series. I really try to avoid betting on games / series where I have a rooting interest but it's like these guys are just daring me to go all in on the Wild. I get that playoff hockey is supposed to be a different animal but have these guys not seen what happens when VGK play the Wild?

ETA: Ugly stats of the night...including the shutout loss today, VGK have scored just 12 goals in their last 9 playoff games (going back to game 5 of last year's series with the Canucks.) 2 of those were empty net goals against the Canucks in Game 7 last year. They were shut out in 3 of those games and have lost their last 3 OT playoff games.

As much as I would love to see that, VGK aren't even making it out of this series if they don't rewire their heads (and their power play) in a massive way.

Gretzky, Orr, and Mario. Those are the only 3 that are above Sid right now. You might be able to make a case for Howe but the longevity of his career is a big factor. GTFO w/everyone else. Learn the game, have better opinions, then I might consider taking you seriously on hockey again.

You don't have to like Sid. That's fine. But to not even have him on that list is a slap in the face and either reeks of ignorance, or just flat being a hater.
