Because I asked you a question and you said “I don’t know.” And that’s a shitty argument.

Being educated doesn’t preclude you from being pompous.

Another attempt to redirect the argument. This whole thread is about what SVG said about the anthem in reference to the NBA. Somehow, you’ve brought up golf, tennis, your office, esports, etc. You’ve been intentionally obtuse. And now this?

It’s not my fault people are too ignorant to know how to stand and respect the flag, or even respectfully kneel. I’ve been on record ITT as saying I don’t care if someone kneels.

The anthem being played prior to a hoops game seems to bother you, yet you haven’t given a true reason. The best you come up with is that it doesn’t make sense because it isn’t consistent to every other sport...again, drawing attention away from basketball.

It doesn’t bother me. But it also doesn’t bother me if they don’t want to do it.

I find the practice to be unnecessary. I don’t need to recite a song with a bunch of strangers to reinforce my love of country.

It’s not pompous to understand how to participate in or accept the singing of the anthem. Take your cap off, stand or kneel, stay off your phone.

And that’s fine

And that’s fine because I don’t

And I do, I love it before a game. Gets me jacked up and ready to watch

Interesting. You could almost say that it bothers you.

You could say that. You would be wrong, but say away.

You find the process unnecessary. If it doesn’t bother you, though, what is the purpose of your stance in this thread?

To answer your question, Stan, it's a good tradition before sporting events for as long as I can recall that we should maintain bc it honors the country which allows you to make millions COACHING A frickING GAME!!!! what a dick

It doesn’t bother me, but perhaps it bothers them. If so, I have no issue with them not doing it.

Who is them? NBA owners? Sorry, the National Anthem isn’t being played pregame for ‘them’, nor the players. It’s for everybody. This isn’t something the franchise dictates like what kind of food they serve postgame in the locker room.

That’s always been my position as well. I like the anthem, but it should be saved for special events, or big games. Not a weeknight in Sacramento before a Wizards v. Kings game.
