Doubt it lol...lets find the second most successful basketball program in Acadiana...can't be Northside anymore, so either LCA or Carencro. Shall we compare which school has more nineteen year olds?

Danny Broussard is a great coach and the split helps them. Public schools used to give them hell in the playoffs.

Northside still owns them on the court

Mostly the split but Danny Broussard is a good coach and STM gets tons of talented athletes across every sport every year.

Their girls team is a powerhouse and their boys were in the state finals this year St. Pauls dominates the state but STM is good these days.

all catholic schools hold back kids in k-3

BS, No they don’t. 2 of LSU’s best athletes from STM were never held back in school. Andrew Stevenson and Lyle Mouton were both 17 yr old Seniors and graduated HS before their 18th B-day. My two nephews attended Cathedral Carmel and neither was held back in K-3. Some kids are purposely held back but NOT all

The feeder elementary schools are Fatima and Cathedral Carmel. Alumni and parents whose children attend(ed) those schools can attest if they hold back kids for sports in K-3rdG.

Maybe the stupidest thing I've ever heard! My God, jealousy runs deep.
So you think Danny goes to 1st graders and asks their parents to hold back their kids education, because maybe they can play basketball 8 years later?

Your a complete fricking moron

5th through 8th grade at the feeder schools are all coached by former players. The kids have been playing together, in the system, for 4 years when they show up as freshmen

This. I went to a feeder school, played for Danny and coached at one of the feeder schools. Taught the same system and principles right down to the verbiage. Used to be he’d go get the best athletes in the area as well but that’s not as important nowadays with the split. He still gets good athletes organically from non-feeder schools whose parents truly do want a better school environment.

You totally misinterpreted my post as it went right over your head. Where did I insinuate that Danny asks parents to hold their kids back ? I didn’t ! My point was the parents who hold their kids back will have to confirm if THEY did it solely for sports.

I’ve met Danny several times as he is a helluva coach and an even better person. It’s never about him as he gives all the praise and accolades to the kids. There’s no jealousy on my part as I’m a fan of Danny Broussard.

Don’t know if Danny still does morning practices but I remember back when I went to STM they would hold their practices before school started maybe not every day but many of times. That work ethic in a coach and his program goes a long way
