So called long time "Cardinals" fans who have posted for years on the MSB are embarrassed when relatively newer Cardinals fans post anything positive about the Cardinals organization.
That's why they claim that straight forward interesting information threads are somehow troll threads full of braggadocious moxy.
Instead of being like, "Hell yeah! The Cardinals have a great hall of fame too! Rock on," they're like, "Gotdammit. Why do Cardinals fans feel the need to constantly brag about their favorite team? It's sooooo embarrassing and uncouth that anyone would expect a Cardinals fan to post flattering things about the organization they love on a sport forum. Perhaps non-Cardinals fans will disapprove! The last thing I want is non-Cardinals fans to disapprove. Golly gee whiz I wish no one would post anything positive about the Cardinals...except myself of course. I've earned that right."

I dont get the push back in general from Cardinals folks either.
At first I thought us newer Mizzou/Cardinals fans were pushing buttons or acting out of line but after being here for a few years now that isnt the case. Nothing out of the ordinary. Each fan base trolls a little, flames a little and has fun for the most part.

I never trolled with this thread. I legitimately thought it was interesting information and I even included the link to the STL Cardinals website where I copied the information and pasted it here.

I also don't like your persona on this forum and the manner in which you post on here as I think you're a prick and constant, incessant troll and braggart, whether you want to call this thread a brag thread or not. Your typical thread on this board is almost always centered around how the Cardinals are in some fashion or another better than every other organization on the planet. And you start threads for damn near anything that pops into your head.
That doesn't mean I won't back you up when it's deserved (see the in-game thread throw down opening day), but for the most part you are the annoying little pest of this board and you enjoy playing that role. Consequently, whether you meant this to be informational or not, every thread you start on this board is looked at as a troll/brag thread unless it is clear it isn't. This was, at best, unclear, and, at worst, obviously a brag thread.

Cardinals fans, as a general statement, on this board are no worse than the fans for any other team. Maybe even more willing to engage in forthright conversation about sports and the Cardinals in relation to other teams while being respectful.
kills is an exception to the general statement. We all know it. He knows it. You wonder why people on this board automatically look at you with disdain? Look no further than kills (and apparently UltimateHog). It is not you pushing buttons, it is only one, two, maybe three people who are purposefully being jackasses to get a rise out others on the board. Consequently, fans of other teams will react to you in a fashion that is offensive.
It also doesn't help that the Cardinals are currently the belle of the ball in the national media.

The only other potential brag thread is the Louisiana 30-3 Sweeps Troy thread, and it's mostly an in-game thread. Do you see the pattern at all? Particularly given kills' history? I suppose it doesn't matter really, but it is no wonder other posters resent Cardinals fans on here. Just saying.

no surprise to me. I think the Cardinals are the best organization in MLB over the longest period of time. the Dodgers used to rival them (in LA) with Walter Alston and Tommy Lasorda but St. Louis just keeps on winning and with class. Also, it goes hand in hand that y'all have the best fans in the sport also. I'm not a hater of the Yankees by any measurement but it's a lot easier to do what they've done with the huge advantage they have with media money in that market. St. Louis does almost as much with much less resources.

I think you'd be surprised by me IRL. I guarantee that you'd have a good time with me at any game (baseball, football, basketball, whatever). I'm a pretty cool dude when not viewed through insignificant online troll goggles.

I think what bothers people so much about pro-Cardinal threads is that the so called "Mizzou Cardinals fans" (as if there's an IRL distinction...LOL) were blasted by trolls when we arrived here in 2011. Day in and day out. It was funny to the entire board to say the worst crap imaginable about Missouri and Mizzou fans.
Now that we've acclimated to this site and are no longer easily rustled, it pisses people off that we post here and have a particular love for the one thing most people hate most on the MSB (other than Killz)....The Cardinals.
