If im a kid and my team is crumbling and our pitcher is about to walk the game winning run....id probably wish my coach would stop day dreaming about crisco sammiches and get the frick up and show everyone hes concerned and that there is some slimmer of hope

It was kind of disconcerting seeming him sit there kind of slumped over like that. Maybe the dude wasn't feeling well or something.

I was at the game and Texas is so overrated. Mike leake is going to dominate. Ump sucked arse.

At least someone was consistent tonight....that's the same way he was last week during the Florida game. I'm thinking that's just his demeanor. No wonder he's retiring.

you are on scholarship in the ncaa.. you should be able to throw a fricking strike. whether it is a damn meatball or not who cares. throw a fricking strike. that is all.

well.. also submarine/side arm pitchers blow. too inconsistent.

Corky is quoted in the Hattiesburg American saying that he would rather Texas had hit the grand slam than to lose that way.

Some of those pitches that were called balls had been called strikes at other times. And vise/versa with balls called strikes. But when the pitching is so off, then I don't think the ump gives the benefit of the doubt as much.

Texas did not impress me at all.

Me too. That was painful to watch.

Yeah, I know they are the #1 seed, but I wouldn't put them in the top 4, honestly.

I felt so bad for Johnston. He was pouring sweat and looked like he'd had rather been anywhere else except on that mound in that position.

UNC is a much better team than Texas. I was hoping the Eagles would win, at the very least, one game in the CWS...but I am doubtful now. I think last night was their shot and they blew it.

Hope I'm wrong.

Yeah, me too. Their pitching is thin, so they are going to have to slug their way to victory in the next two games and have McInnis start in the third and then slug out a fourth victory. Nearly impossible, though. Like you, I was hoping for at least one win. I guess we'll find out tomorrow afternoon.

i felt like USM lost the game when the couldn't really capitalize with bases loaded and only 1 out.. i believe that was the inning they took a 1 run lead.
