Pretty excited for this. The AAC is one random, but actually really solid conference for football. Especially if Tulane could hit their potential.

Temple has had an elite defense since 2014.

A shame this league doesn't get more recognition - we get plenty of ESPN games - yet people act surprised all the time about the depth of this football conference.

The best team in the league isn't even in the CG because Temple beat them.

Yes, they are. Navy is hosting the game. Pay attention.

I'm referring to who beat Navy, genius.

We beat Temple, but I am not referring to Memphis because we aren't the best team in the league by any shot.

It's easily one of the most entertaining leagues in the country. Like, top 3.

Alonso ... you must be referring to USF then?

You think they are the best?

They beat Navy by 7 in a thriller at USF home in a short week for Navy.

easily, Every school has major disadvantages that they have to make up with great coaching and recruiting.

Most conferences have scheme identity. You are recruiting similarly players since most teams occupy a territory with uniform demographics or recruit from the same state (big 12= texas, Pac-12 Cali or SEC=the South). This means that teams are going to be similar in make-up; good SEC teams have good d-lines and fast secondaries, big ten teams have big o-lines and good linebackers, pac-12 and big 12 have good QB, ect.

The AAC isn't operating with the same recruiting advantages and is so spread out that each school has vastly different +/-.

Houston, Memphis, USF, and UCF can all find great secondary hidden gems with-in their state. Just need good coaching, which all those teams have right now (UCF is bowling after sucking arse last year)

Temple is similar but they are recruiting a different skill set than the southern teams.

Navy is basically the Stanford of the AAC selling kids on a great undergrad.

Tulsa just runs an awesome run game. Score a million points

The coaches are creative, take risks and it is awesome.

All of this creates very interesting match-ups against wildly different squads each week.

for sure, just mean that Navy is selling themselves to a different recruit than the rest of AAC. I wasn't really comparing the school's values or education, just that the selling point is finishing school their sets you up for a great future. Both schools are having to pull recruits at a national level

Temple led the country in scoring defense in November, giving up 3.3 points per game.

Playing Tulane, UConn, and ECU will do that for your scoring defense. There's your 3 worst teams in the American

True, but it's still a 3.3 average for a month.

Cincinnati is surely worse than one of those teams by now, though.

I don't care who you are ... that avg at that level over a 3-game span is impressive.

Tulane is truly a terrible offense, I would know lol. UConn is even worse than Tulane, they might actually be the worst offense in the FBS (or close to it). I don't know wtf happened to East Carolina, that team is usually good but they're horrible this year.

I'll go on record and say that Temple is overrated and Navy is going to long dick them. Army ran for 300+ on that defense, Navy will do the same.

Army was back in week one, right?

Temple hasn't lost since 6 October.
