The next runs have not made a strong case today.

OSU didn't cry about missing out, just handled business.

We need 8 because my team didn't get in.

But seriously I want 6; top two get a bye, #3 and #4 host home games.

Why? When do 5 and 6 ever deserve a chance at a title?

6 teams is the most logical.

Top 2 probably makes the final and deserves a bye go avoid 15 game seasons

Plus P5 in with 1 wild card

Deserve is a funny word. How often do 3 and 4 "deserve" a chance at a title.

Exact opposite.

No way you can sell me on two teams getting a bye. No way you can sell me on 1 wildcard when all other teams won their conference.

They usually don’t. I’m cool with BCS computers giving us the top 2

so if there 3 equally great teams two get a bye and the third has expandera game. Bama already done this twice by not playing in the SEC Champ game, It's LESS fair. The top two wont always be evident like this year.

5 power conferences = 5 conference champions get an automatic bid. Fill out the rest (whether a 6 team or 8 team playoff).

The system led to the Top 2 teams playing for the championship, which is what it was designed to do. Not really sure how people could really gripe this year.

Yeah byes make absolutely zero fricking sense with targeting ejections and injuries not to mention a month off to prepare.

Why does every level of football have a football playoff beyond 4 teams and not the NCAA Div. 1-A?

Because insanity.

It's entitrely possible a 5 P5 teams finish with the same record, yet there are only 4 spots. Nevermind independents like BYU or Notre Dame.

The system was fubar from day one.

Because there are 5 power conferences with no definitive way to say which champion is better without head to head play

So if the only way to determine if one team is better than the other is by head to head play, then we would have to allow the conference champions to play a round robin against each other to determine national champion.

Still have to factor in Notre Dame/non power 5 teams. 8 is the perfect number
