You don't want us to have to stoop to your conference, because we'll win the damn thing every year until another spot opens up.

Going to the SEC with Texas A&M?

A Sun Belt team very recently beat Alabama and the Sun Belt's head to head record with C-USA has been pretty good recently. I don't have any numbers in front of me though.

11-16 over the past four years (4-3, 4-4, 1-8, 2-1). Not great, but a little better than I would have expected, and they've done .500 or better vs. C-USA three of four years.

Tech hasn't beaten a SBC school since 2006, and they haven't beaten ULM in nine years.

The SBC is crap. Having 3 shitty teams from Lousiana on it would just be more embarrassing than it already is with 2.

North Texas and MTSU are higher on the pecking order than Troy, why is everyone ignoring me about this?

North Texas and Troy are not relevant to CUSA (until UAB and SMU move out). MTSU would be an excellent member in CUSA (especially if Memphis ever leaves). If Houston or UTEP leave, Tech will get that spot.

North Texas is a school on the rise, they've added more money to their budget and have been upgrading facilities. MTSU is the school in the best position for an upgrade. My point was, Troy isn't desirable for anybody.

That's what ULM's DBs said watching Troy Edwards run into the end zone 10 times.

We're talking about a player from over ten years ago. He was a great receiver. I'm sure we could dig up some records from the 80s when NLU owned Tech. However, all of this has nothing to do with Tech being afraid to play ULM currently. And I know you'll come back with Tech offered to host one game a couple of years ago. Which may or may not be true, I wasn't there and you probably weren't either. Most reasonable people will agree that Tech is in no position to be offering ULM a one and done game in Ruston.

NLU won 9 of 12, and then Tech went 1A and, fortunately for them, had an excuse to cancel the series that was slipping out of their hands.

It's like offering a guy $200 for a 1993 Buick Skylark. Sure, it's a shitty car, but I should get way more than $200 for it.

CUSA is a lot better than those two now...

I agree but if they don't get invited the Sunbelt should be an option.

Tech fans are acting like it is beneanth them. It is not.

Tech fans think they're a big school. It's hilarious to watch them poke out their chests and try to convince themselves that they're big time.

Been that way for friggin' years. I guess that's what happens when you're stuck in Ruston.

The series was slipping out of Tech's hands in the 80's, but it was not canceled until after the 2000 season, after Tech had won 7 or 8 in a row with the last victory being by 30+. Although, I do agree we should have offered a home and home a few years ago. I was sad to see both the in state rivalries die and always enjoy it when Tech schedules road games that are actually close enough to go to.

On conference changes, I agree with some of the previous posters that patience is key. Next summer will be the key time as it should be clear by that point what is going to be happening with the WAC. However, I think most Tech fans would come around to thinking that forced to choose between a decimated WAC or a gradually improving SunBelt, that the SunBelt would be the better choice. If our program is improving as much as we think it is, than we can prove it by winning the SunBelt and the NO Bowl.
