Sloan should come to LSU... college girls would make him feel young again

26 years.

I went through the Sloan debate on here last season.

26 seasons and the best he could pull out were 2 finals appearances. He's a really good coach, but sorry, the Jazz will be fine with him moving on.

Longevity seems to add more to coaches' legacies than they actually accomplished. Jeff Fisher

His teams post-Malone/Stockton have ALWAYS been better than they should be

Another great point.

They always overachieve.

And like I said, the best teams go to the Finals and win titles.

How many times did Sloan have the best team in the NBA, or the best team in the West?

You seem to say he's underachieved, but given what he had to work with, it's the opposite, IMO.

His post Stockton/Malone teams have played about where their talents should, imo. So thats fine, he did what he could with those guys.

However, he coached the best PG and PF of their generation, in their primes, and has no rings to show for it.

You cant just brush that off as "he never had the best team." Those are generational talents he had to work with year end and year out.

Losing to Jordan is nothing to be ashamed of. But even before that teams like Seattle, Phoenix, Portland, Houston were all knocking off Utah to get to the finals.
Maybe that should be put more on Stockton and Malone's shoulders, however

MJ had that effect on a few teams.

Tell me which of those teams were better than any of those Bulls teams. They weren't, so I think I can brush it off as "he never had the best team." and rightfully so, imo.

Like i said, nothing wrong with losing to Michael Jordan in the finals.

However, he coached 26 years. Never in the same conference as Micahel Jordan. 2 finals appearnces

That has nothing to do with Jordan. Guess its just terrible luck that he only had the best team in his conference twice in all that time
