Especially when you consider the Texas, Bamas, Michigans, etc of the world were doing the same damn thing. SMU was a great target to make an example out of.

NIL adds another layer to it. SMU isn't just SMU anymore.

In the world of NIL, SMU = Dallas.

It's no longer just SMU money and alumni money, which is/was a lot already. Now they'll bring to bear DFW businesses' money/wealth to capture local football talent.

It won't happen overnight, but I would imagine they'll be a pretty salty program before too long.

SMU will wreck shite in the ACC in a few years. They have huge potential now that they are Power 5.
