can we bestow it upon Paul Pierce? Looks like he had another one of this "injuries" last night, and it caused a small melee

At first glance, I thought Kevin Garnett threw a sucker punch-style elbow. But after seeing how it started, KG was correct to fight for his teammate. While Paul Pierce may be a baby for laying on the floor hurt, the Heat player that tried to walk right over him while he was laying their deserved the elbow to the chops.

Richardson sounded off on both Garnett and Pierce after the game.

"I was trying to get over there to take the ball out of bounds and [Garnett] started to talk to me, so I talked back. I don't have any business talking to him, he was on the ground crying. I don't know what was going on, two actresses over there, that's what they are.

"I just get surprised by people's actions when I know them better than that. They're not those characters they portray. They're not who they say they are, Garnett and Pierce, they're good basketball players and that's about it.

"I said to Jermaine, he's OK because I knew nobody touched him," explained Richardson. "Is he taking another break like he does so many times? Sometimes he falls like he's about to be out for the season and then he gets right up, that's all I said.

"I don't like them, and they know it."

Maybe that's why he tried to walk over him. He knew he wasn't hurt.

Of course he wasn't hurt...it's Paul freaking pierce. Used to be one of my favorite ball players. Especially after the huge comeback win vs the Nets in the playoffs some years ago. But lately it's like man stop acting like a bitch. I agree with QRich and I hate that mo fo

I hate the Celts, but it really did look like he got a stinger from that bump from Haslem. I think you people are really reaching on this one.

If it wasn't Pierce no one would think anything of it. He has generated a reputation for being pretty liberal with the flopping and faking being hurt over the years though. Dude acts like he tore his knee up, then 30 seconds later he's up and playing again.

He'll probably be suspended and cost his team the next game.

Richardson’s issues with Pierce are no secret, even if their origins have never been truly explained. The two were ejected for trash-talking in front of a referee two years ago when Richardson was playing for the New York Knicks. Richardson then continued to shout at Pierce while walking down the tunnel to the locker room.

Pierce once hosted Richardson as a recruit at the University of Kansas. Neither player has fully explained what the problem is, but this much is clear: Richardson has always seemed to be more irritated about the situation – and, as a result, has done most of the talking.

”All I will say is people act one way in NBA environments where things can be restrained and you’re going to be penalized, fined and da-da-da-da-da-da,” Richardson said. ”Stuff is going to come to a screeching halt as soon as it happens anyway.

”And you know, you put some people in different environments, they want to do the same thing. And those two pretty much know that. They’ve been in different environments and didn’t act the same way. You know, that’s why I call them actresses.”

Joakim Noah went off on this today. Apparently he doesn't like KG:

quote:

As the league ponders whether to suspend Celtics forward Kevin Garnett for hitting Heat swingman Quentin Richardson in the face with an elbow, Bulls center Joakim Noah offered his opinion about Garnett.

"I'm going to say it: He's a dirty player," Noah said following Bulls practice Sunday.

VOTE: Do you agree with Joakim Noah's assessment of KG?

Asked if he felt Garnett should be suspended, Noah went even stronger with his criticism.

"I don't make the decisions," Noah said. "But he's always swinging elbows man. I'm hurting right now because of an elbow he threw. It's unbelievable. He's a dirty player. It's one thing to be competitive and compete. But don't be a dirty player man. He's a dirty player.
"That's messed up. I'm really excited about that (Heat-Celtics) series. It's going to be fun. I hope they put (Jamaal) Magloire in."

Jamaal Magloire is a rarely-used big man for the Heat, with the obvious implication that he would foul Garnett hard.

"He knows what he's doing," Noah said. "It's messed up. It's wrong. It's not right. And then after that to say . . . whatever I shouldn't even be talking about this stuff. It's crazy."

I really don't give a frick what Noah thinks. He'll never be as good or better than KG and he's not a good enough player in the NBA to run his mouth.

He's still butt hurt too, FWIW.
