OSU's offense has not been too good lately
hell even in 2006 it just feasted off a crappy big10
tres is responsible for the recruiting (OSU has gone backwards in talent), gameplanning, and until this year i believe, playcalling

His offenses have never been dominant, even when he was at Youngstown St. The offense in '02 was at times anemic and I think they had 2 games when they didn't score an offensive TD, but still managed a W. His formula has always been to win the field position battle, don't turn it over, play solid defense and special teams. He stuck to the script last night but unfortunately 1 missed tackle (and bad defensive play call) cost them in the end.

the script is not a valid gameplan in today's CFB, especially now
see: not going for the TD on the drive that ended in your 2nd FG. stupid decision
and you had a sick offense in 2005 once smith was the solid starting QB. you've gone WAY back since then

They have upgraded athletically in two very important positions though, QB and WR. They're already pretty athletic at RB, so we'll see what the future holds.

2005 was actually the only year that OSU had a good offense. Mediocre offense has been a trait of the entire Tressel era.
FWIW even during that year their offense wasn't that great. They didn't play well against Texas or Penn STate. They had 600+ yards in their bowl game but it was against Notre Dame.
Even in 2002-2003 and 2003-2004 when the OSU taem went 25-2, their offense was mediocre as frick. They averaged only like 26 ppg during their national championship year I believe.
the 2006-2007 offense missed Santonio IMO
and the past 2 years they've lacked playmakers at wideout and have been too one dimensional. Decent power running game but no explosiveness in the passing game.

This is premature especially since Ohio State played well and pretty much had this game won. No one thought that Ohio State had a chance going into this game.

I remember Suprrier said one of the main reasons he left UF was because they would go 10-2/BCS bowl and people would still bitch.
He has had a tough run BCS wise in last few years, big deal. Still more successful than 98% of the coaches out there.

no, he should not resign. he is a great recruiter and classy, spokesperson for the university. however, he should give up play calling duties ASAP.
Yep.

No but like Les he should make adjustments to his staff - and give it another year or two
JT is a good coach

Or 20. Tressel is here to stay. He does much more for OSU and the community than coach football. He's the face of the program and a class act. Also loyal to a fault, which is his biggest character flaw IMO.
