Ole Piss is scared.
Yep.

But in their defense, you would be scared as well if you couldn't beat Jacksonville State at home.

I don't party much/have much of a social life so I've only been there a couple times but it's pretty sad for everyone who worked there and lost their jobs.

Yeah they should play them. Bama should schedule UAB also.
From the first days of UAB, I always sort of hoped/expected Bama to play UAB at Legion Field every year, treating UAB as the road team.

I dont party too much any more either, but Im going to miss their burgers. They were GREAT. It does suck for the workers, a buddy of mine's g/f worked there. Supposedly they are supposed to reopen in May at the old Alumni House Building.

The new place on Hardy St., The Gold Pub has a great burger. Its a stuffed burger they have about 4 different varieties. If you haven't been there you need to check it out, its a cool laid back kind of place. Its right beside the bike shop on hardy before Keg and Barrell.

Yes, they should be forced to do so so long as they are playing those ridiculous Div II schools etc.

Nothing to gain?

Southern Miss has been just as good or better than Ole Miss and Miss State for the past 20 years.

What's the series records?

To answer the OP, YES.

If you are scared go to church!

or pay for better players - either dont act like bizitches!

USM is the best football program in that state - at least I feel it very well will be soon enough.

This is just like LSU having everything to lose and nothing to gain by playing Tulane, La Tech only X's 10 since Ole Miss and MSU are not as good from year to year - dont be scerred -

I looked it up.

USM vs Miss St: 14-12-1
USM vs Ole Miss: 6-18

They sould all play. (And USM should replace Miss St in the SEC).

State hasn't played Southern Miss since 1991 when they beat Brett Favre in Starkville.

The all time series is 14-12-1 Mississippi State but since we had to forfeit 2 games in the record books it is 12-14-1

Sorry Not trying to be a prick - just my honest opinion.

If USM played MSU and Ole Miss head up 10 times in a row - USM would win more than they would lose.

If I were the AD at State, I wouldn't schedule them. If USM beats State for recruits, then I would.

I take it you haven't seen Southern Miss play in the last few years. They are far from what they were when Jeff Bower was the HC. THey have been like 7-6, 7-6, and 8-5 the past 3 years and have been 4-4 in C-USA every year.

No, its not. LSU is head and shoulders above all the schools located within the state. Thats why we schedule them. If we had an Out of Conference (key term there) school in LA that could compete with us we would NOT schedule them. At least not all the damn time. USM is close enough to Ole Miss and State to cause damage and win, and being an out of conference opponent that you aren't forced to play makes actually doing it that much more risky. While it would be fun for the fans in MS you do not want to do USM any favors building their program, especially if you're located in BFE Starkville.

What? That's pretty much what Bower was doing when he got fired.

2000: 8-4 (4-3)
2001: 6-5 (4-3)
2002: 7-6 (5-4)
2003: 9-4 (8-0)
2004: 7-5 (5-3)
2005: 7-5 (5-3)
2006: 9-5 (6-3)
2007: 7-6 (5-3)

In the late 90's Bower was winning between 8 and 10 games a year and was consistantly ranked in the top 25 and was winning C-USA every other year.
