Dunga has to keep the old timers around because of the respect for them in Brasil but he brought in some young talent that works hard and isn't fat (Ronaldinho/Ronaldo). I think he mixes young talent and veteran leadership well.

Playing Andre Santos over Dani Alves is a little weird IMO

I was just speaking about the internationals. Spain has a nice guy who is essentially a caretaker with no original ideas, Germany has a pretty inexperienced guy, France has a complete hack, Italy went with a young guy who was in over his head and now they have a legend who doesn't really want to be there, Turkey has a wannabe Mob boss and moron in charge, and Maradona's results speak for themselves.

As for Dunga, he has the most talented roster in the world, and he builds a team as if he is a minnow in the Champions League. Guys like Gilberto Silva and Kleberson are still in the rotation, when they are clearly past it, while players like Hernanes and Cristian don't even get a look. He plays favorites much more than Arena, and once he likes a guy, he will be a part of the rotation forever. The roster he brought out in the Olympics was an embarrassment, and it took him 85 minutes to get ahead of South Africa.

At some point Dunga has to realize he is in charge of Brazil. It doesn't mean that Adriano, Ronaldo, and Ronaldinho have to be back on the team, but there are many talented guys who are never going to play because he insists on going with at least 2 defensive midfielders at all times.

There are only a couple of internationals I like besides Capello. Hiddinck is obviously a legend, but it's not like he will be competing for the title with Russia, despite the Euro performance. Bilic of Croatia seems like an intriguing guy as well.

If it's the English guys, under. If it's Harkes/JP (and God forbid Bretos or Jack Edwards), over. Way over.

Who does less with more? Domenech, by far.

I don't think it's even close. And somehow the French FA decided to keep him after their disastrous Euro 2008 performance.

That would have been like LSU reataining Dinardo after his last season. A total disaster has to be met with a forceful answer. The French FA really fricked up and it is too late to do anything before the South Africa. How is France doing in qualifying?

They are 5 points behind Serbia (but have played one less game). They are in one of the easiest groups I have ever seen: Serbia, Lithuania, Austria, Faeroe Islands, and the worst Romanian team in 25 years.

They should win that group with a huge goal differential. France may not make it out of the group stage in South Africa. If they don't it would be tragic. That is a European Group the US should qualify from. France better can his arse.

You're always a threat with Guus Hiddink at the helm. That's who I really want the USA to hire.

Won't happen. I think there is an MLS bias in the USSF (read the interview with Kenny Cooper's dad on yanks-abroad. Not entirely related, but reveals a certain way of thinking). If shite with Bob won't work out, I think the next choice might be Preki.

True, but Russia has some really good players as well.
