I got my first ever speeding ticket a few months ago. 67 in a 50. Told the officer I thought it was a 60 mph zone (I did) because it goes up and down a bunch on that stretch. He didn't care but was courteous and gave the GF a cap tip and "ma'am" when he was leaving.

Not too concerned - he’s young and many young people speed. Not condoning it and it’s serious as it can get people hurt. But it’s an offense we have all committed.
My biggest concern is that they swept the 1st citation under the rug. It comes off as if they did him a solid. And then he did it again.
That lack of awareness shows something other issues and gives credence to the teams criticism of him. That he lacks awareness, he thinks he’s above the rules that others have to follow, etc
