Teams have never enjoyed the benefit of having an easier schedule than their competitors

So you’re saying it makes no difference that the Pelicans remaining schedule was arguably the easiest in the NBA, while the Griz faced the toughest remaining schedule.
What is your argument to the Pelicans being 7-1 against teams competing for the 8 seed with a double-digit average MOV
Or are you just looking to argue with Pelicans fans? Seems like that is the case.

it would be more worthy title than the ones that toronto and Cleveland won recently that they certainly would have lost without injury luck.
I don’t see how any of those are unworthy. It isn’t the Cavs or Raptors fault they caught the Warriors broke down.
I think when the goon Pachulia took out Leonard was an injustice. I also think the league’s screw up of not smoothing the cap was a bigger problem.

My point is you cant cry about strength of schedule when that has always been an issue since the start of time. I'm sorry the pelicans probably would have made the playoffs if a full 82 game schedule was played, but that doesn't make it unfair if the NBA just picks up where the seedings are now. The warriors probably would have made the playoffs if steph and kay never got hurt. Should we just let them in the playoffs? No. You play with the hand you are dealt. This is the exact situation that my favorite baseball team is dealing with mookie betts
Maybe I shouldn't have said fair. Cause its not fair, or unfair, it just is what it is

The nba threads sucked this year

Bc when you get to the finals and beat a team who is a shell of itself. It is not the same as beating a team when they healthy. As a competitor you want the opponent at their best. Every title has its own story and when you only win bc of injury it certainly puts a bit of a damper on it. You can guarantee both the fans and players of Toronto would have been more excited had they beaten the real warriors than the version they had to square off against.

Is an NBA Championship more analogous to winning a short sprint or a long obstacle course race?

when you come out the East you can roll over outta bed and into the playoffs. Then you get a cakewalk finals. Props to toronto for beating Philly and Milwaukee but it would kinda suck to be a raptors fan and get a title like that. Wouldn’t be nowhere close to as fun or fulfilling as a legitimate win.

I am perfectly ok with them removing conferences and just seeding the best 16 teams.
I don’t think it is fair to constantly make excuses for the Warriors though. I think the league massively screwed up with not smoothing the cap which allowed Durant to make the ultimate bitch move. I also think Green should receive a technical or more every game for his constant bs. I think he earns every bit of every technical, ejection, or suspension he receives. I feel they still let him play stupidly and I don’t think there is a place for that in the NBA currently. He is probably one of the most overrated players ever.
Big fan of Klay Thompson though and feel he doesn’t get enough respect in general.

Wow. I have a hard time with those who says Thompson > green. Green is the alpha leader of the team. Rim protector. Best play maker. Without him there is not even one title. No death lineup. Klay is just not as impactful.
