Why are they punishing the schools for shite the citizens of Mississippi have voted on?

One of the posters on the Rant also said Southaven has put in a bid for the women's basketball tournament. This would be a good draw given the number of Miss State and UT fans nearby.

Oh boy, lemme tell you about the droves of non-revenue Tennessee fans in the Memphis metro.

So, Sankey in his infinite wisdom, punishes black players at these universities. Brilliant

Oh please what a stupid overly dramatic take . Are the players at the 13 SEC schools not in Georgia "punished" because the SEC CG is played in Atlanta? No Besides there are other people that benefit from hosting events beyond the players and unlike the players those people stand to gain financially.

I would imagine they’re just exercising their leverage

fricking with enough boosters from those two schools will get some things done

Not saying I agree with the tactics, and I also think it shouldn’t affect players who have nothing to do with it.

I just think it’s a threat as of now

The SEC didn’t give two shits about Mississippi sports until today.

But once again the extremists/radicals have sniffed out something to bitch about and pressured the league.

Because Sankey hates black people. He is punishing black athletes for the votes of white Mississippi citizens

I mean seriously, he is

There have been groups trying to get those flags changed for a long time. As someone noted Mississippi held a vote in the early 2000's

I just loathe the idea that we are about to start seeing an uptick in sports and private companies and everything start "punishing" people for how they vote

Dramatic? It’s a simple fact. If Sankey passes this, he is 100% punishing the athletes at state and ole miss. That isnt dramatic, it’s simple fact

Greg Sankey has been the SEC Commissioner for 5 years and an employee of the SEC for 18 years

To my knowledge, this is the first he has spoken up on this issue. As such, he has been implicitly supporting of the flag of the State of Mississippi.

As such, Mr. Sankey should step down as Commissioner.

______________

See how this can get out of hand?

I didn’t argue that. I said the league is only speaking up now because they are giving in to the extremists/radicals right now. The ones burning down buildings, rioting, and vandalizing.

How does this affect Mississippi athletics?

They don't hold anything and they don't compete for anything.

Best they could try to do is stop casino gambling, lol
