Seahawks offense looks similar to Saints' offense a few years ago.

Russell Wilson seems to be doing a Drew Brees' imitation from a few years ago. Lots of screen passes, non-existent running game, horrible O-Line, etc. Last 5 games he had 40+ passing attempts, and one game with 39. Reminds me of when Brees was in this situation; lots of passes, forcing the ball, etc. Wilson seems like he has to put the team on his shoulders and carry them just to have a chance to win.

He takes the snap and immediately starts scrambling. He doesn't even get a second in the pocket. That line is atrocious

You know how collinsworth loves that little marker that shows the arm motion of the QBs?

I'd love to use that to track wilsons movement on one of these plays that he runs around for 40 yards before getting the ball off

It's a modern day Fran Tarkington show out there

Not sure why you are getting downvoted

Brees in his prime is far superior to Wilson

Because the comment really has nothing to do with the topic at hand.

I don't think he's getting downvoted for saying Brees is better, he's getting down voted for crying that Brees is better and that it's a ridiculous notion...... when no one was saying other wise. He just automatically jumped to this argument about Brees whenever the OP was clearly only talking about how the offense is operating compared to the saints offense of the past couple of years.

Persecution syndrome as some would say

Brees is so much better. How dare you compare the two offenses.

When is the last time the Saints finished outside the top 5 on offense?

Wilson likes to hold the ball and create, whereas Brees likes to get rid of it immediately. Even when our oline did go to shite, we still didn't take very many sacks.

And our offensive line was never that bad imo.

I get what you're saying with the reliance on 1 player though. It isn't sustainable without a great defense.

Drew Brees Total Yards Passing Rank (NFL regular season):

2016 1st
2015 1st
2014 1st
2013 2nd
2012 1st
2011 1st
2010 3rd
2009 6th
2008 1st
2007 2nd
2006 1st

I'm sure Russell Wilson appreciates the complement, but no, he ain't seen a day he was an imitation of Drew Brees.

So quick to defend Brees, you don't even think about the post.

Yes, Drew Brees passes for lots of yardage. But I seem to remember not too long ago(2-3 seasons ago) where all they were doing were throwing screens almost every other down. The Saints offense was one dimensional, and it was up to Brees to win every game. So yes, he got a lot of yardage because he was the main one producing offense.

What are the things you look for when deciding if a QB is a game manager or not?
