All you figs defending Bama are wrong. The argument should have nothing to do with whether or not they are good enough to be in the final four...

The true argument is that BAMA's political connections and money become more important than the entire regular season, and the conference championship.

The fact that they are in this year completely sullies and nullifies the regular season and the Conference championship. It is meaningless and nullified.

Why watch the game of the century in 2011, if the loser gets a rematch??? What was the point???

If Bama deserves it, then it should have won it's only tough matchup in the regular season versus Auburn.

So Auburn wins, after whipping Georgia, Georgia gets a mulligan, and then Bama benefits.

Plain and simple, this is bad for the conference championship and for the regular season. It makes it less exciting, and there is no penalty for losing.

Screw Ohio State, but I could argue UCF should be in it or even USC, but definitely WISC before Bama.

to all you Saban arse suckers, you are pathetic, and cucks like you are why political bastards like Saban rule supreme.

Some argue to put the 4 best teams in...

How do we know for sure?? Even if you feel that Bama is the 4th spot, its based on what - your feelings? the ambiguous eye test?

We wouldnt know if the committee got it right unless BAMA won it all, but then we still dont know - what if UCF or USC got in and they won it all.

What I do know is that if the regular season means something, and conference championships matter, then UCF and USC deserve a shot well before BAMA.

If it upsets you enough to pose the question, then not enough yet, at least one more...

Bama cant even call themselves champions of their own state, yet they get an opportunity to be champions of the nation.

Does not compute. Cannot win their own state, division and isnt invited to their conference championship, but lobbies to fast forward to national champions?

Someone with a decent counter argument explain how that path makes sense? Daddy Saban has to cry and pull strings so he can skip to the front of the line?

How about winning the only truly challenging matchup on your schedule and become state champions first???

ohio st & usc both have 2 loses, alabama has 1 loss, the committee did not want to put a 2 loss team in the playoffs, plain & simple. ohio st screwed themselves by losing to iowa by 31 points

If LSU was sitting with 1 loss like Bama, you would kick your dog and beat your white trash wife if they got left out of the top 4.

Bama and OSU have looked like hot garbage this year.

The debate should’ve been between Wisconsin and USC. You can’t penalize Wisconsin for losing the conf. Championship if you’re not going to criticize bama for not playing in it. For all we know bama could be a 2 loss team if they would’ve played yesterday.

What about an undefeated UCF?

What about Wisconsin, who only has one loss and beat Michigan? They have a better loss to Ohio State (2 losses, but beat Mich St, Penn St. and Mich). They are penalized for playing in their conference championship game, but have a better loss than Bama, and an equivalent win.

ETA: to the poster that thinks if this was LSU, I absolutely would not change my stance.

This setup is terrible for college football

this statement right here just shows how absurdly biased you are. If you say Alabama doesn't deserve to be in (which is fair) then it would have to be Ohio State. How on God's Green Earth does UCF deserve a playoff spot over Alabama? Alabama has a better win and their only loss is to the #7 team, they beat #17 and #23, and they beat Florida State who was supposed to be very good this year until they lost their starting quarterback in the first game of the season. all that UCF has done is gone 12-0 by only having to beat Memphis twice.

I am not a Coach O fan; just an LSU fan. And no, since 2011, I do not believe in mulligans...
