They've been saying it for year. Said it after USC-OU-AU also. Just gets louder every year

Would it be possible for them to take the 4 BCS bowls and move them to the begining of the bowl season as the start of an 8 team playoff, then have a semifinal a week later, and then the championship game around Jan.8 like it is now. Also they would need to do away with conference ties to the BCS bowls and only allow the top 8 to play in these games. I believe this would allow for a more clear cut champ, and if your team was below the top 8 then to bad. It would prob. never happen, so I guess I,ll just continue to dream.

I am all for the playoff but here is my only concern. CUPCAKE SCHEDULING.
Think about this... Who in the earth would schedule a tough out of conf game. The regular season would be utterly boring.

Well, a playoff would probably entail a subtraction of one regular season game (OOC)
It's still important to have a good enough schedule to get into the playoff, though. What you won't see is big-time teams playing dangerous Mid-majors/weaker teams from power conferences. Big teams will still schedule big teams (USC-OSU, OSU-Texas, FL-FSU, etc), but the LSU-Washington's would probably go away.

Its almost like the NCAA is powerless when it comes to major college football. They don't even have NCAA in the national championship game logo, or any bowl games for that matter.
They only emphasize NCAA when it comes to the FCS playoffs, NCAA basketball tournament, NCAA College World Series. Its almost like major college football isn't college football.
Just a thought.
