I completely agree with your take. This, at best, is dumpster diving with an athletic mystical creature hoping it pans out.

1) Yup.

2) Makes me even more happy Cleveland let Kruger loose.

This trade might be the steal of the year… Holy shite… what does this say about the just complete and utter ineptitude of the Clevland Browns.

Pats moving him around, he played a little DE at the end of the half. He's hustlin out there, I hope he continues this into the season, he could carve out a real role while the Pats front 7 is healing up

There's no doubt he's got skills and is a quick learner. Those guys thrive under Bill

I mean seriously Browns. Whoa.

Seriously though, this was such a Patriots things to do. Randy Moss for a 4th rounder - 1500 yards and 22 TDs that season.

Talib and a 7th rounder from Tampa for a 4th rounder.

We have to remember all the times it doesn't work like Chad Johnson and Haynesworth, but it's always worth the risk and pays off pretty good at times

And Jonathan Cooper, if healthy, is going to be their starting guard. And came from an actual competent coaching staff with Arians… amazing what Bill gets out of these guyd just by alignment and coaching

Mason is actually ahead of Cooper when he heals up. But that position is in flux right now so he could end up winning that job. Cooper hasn't played all preseason and got healthy right as Mason broke his hand so it was more of a starting bc of injury than actually beating anyone out but we will see. He's another bet on talent

Starting to love this trade. He never even went back to Cleveland after the trade, went straight back from Tampa to NE and never got his shite or anything that's in CLE. Spent his players day off last week staying with the coaches going through film and catching up

Hindsight is 20/20. That is definitely a poor track record but from what I recall the following are the only "reaches" per se:
Weeden, Gilbert, Manziel, Erving

Others just didn't work out, but any other team in that spot could've/would've made the same mistake.

I get that shitting on the Browns is the fun thing to do, but they also got a first rounder out of Richardson (even though they wasted it). And I like what the new front office is doing by trading down and acquiring picks. I think they have some serious potential in the next few years if they can start hitting in the draft

Meh, I doubt he contributes in the regular season. Injury prone and all of that.
