So, just playing devils advocate, the following is a possibility:
Grad comes to Joe and says I'm pretty sure I saw Jerry fricking some kid in the arse, I turned around and ran. Joe says well I seriously doubt that but I will tell AD. AD tells Joe that he will look into it and knowing that it will make them look like shite he goes back to Joe later and tells him campus police did an investigation and there is no evidence of a crime. He might have his doubts but Joe isn't going to throw his friend under the bus after being told by officials that nothing was found

I was laughed at earlier for suggesting the same possibility.

why was sandusky forced into early retirement? friends wouldn't make other friends retire if they think the accusations are BS as you say.

When it comes to kids getting raped you don't worry about throwing friends under the bus. Paterno already knew of Sandusky admitting to being caught showering with a kid years before McQueary told him about the raping. Seems like those two incidents would set off an alarm to a normal person and they wouldn't dismiss the accusation.

Right. And there's a big difference between saying that rascal Sandusky sures loves giving out hugs to those kids and hey I just saw Sandusky anally raping a kid in the shower.

There's a lot of possibilities, as posted earlier he could have said I don't care whether you believe me or not but im on this staff or I'm going to the press. He needs to be the one taking heat, not Joe Pa, he saw a little boy getting arse fricked and turn around and ran
