take regular and postseason into account... who's been a better franchise since '06?

maybe the Colts, maybe the Patriots, maybe the Giants, maybe the Steelers, but the Saints are every bit the equals of them all

The Falcons winning a Super Bowl on their home field? or something else?

Umm a hurricane destroying our city and almost forcing the team to move?

Saints fan hate the Falcons but worse nightmare? Come on, we've endured a lot worse things than a opposing team winning a title.

okay best franchise since '06

Could be argued given that constraint. But I see a lot of selectivity in the overall arguments here. Either you stick to "now", or include history. Either way is fine, but the Redskins beat the Saints in both categories. Hate those bastards, too

It's no different than the Saints winning one little Superbowl and their fans thinking that they're one of the best franchises in the League.

That's just it, the Falcons can't win on the Saints homefield. Lord knows they have been getting their asses kicked in the Superdome.

I look at the nfl as two different periods. Pre free agency and present times. It's a different game. How many franchises haven't done shite since free agency but are still pushed as relevant.

Redskins
Bills
Cowboys
Bears

we aren't even close to having the most wins since 2006. Ever heard of the patriots?

We had the most wins from 2009-2011.

Saying one of the best since 06 is a legit argument. If not for the punishments this season they'd have been in the playoffs again.

From 09-11 they had won more games than anyone in the NFC.

Both franchises have had a horrible history, and both have become relevant after being complete jokes for so long. The Saints recent success is among the tops in the league, there is no denying that. We can't live in the distant past, the NFL is a "what have you done for me lately" league. This fits for both franchises, Saints and Falcons, in their Payton/Brees, Smith/Ryan eras, and both franchises have been among the best in the league lately. The Saints have outdone them, 2 NFC championship appearances, a Superbowl, and a 11-3 record vs the Falcons in their respective "new eras". The Saints are a legit upper tier franchise, now. The Falcons, as much as I hate them, have been a upper tier team as well, outside of their playoff troubles.
