I think we just caught POR looking in this game. Started hot while they struggled, and they were completely unprepared for Aron Baynes' contributions on both ends of the floor. I think they'll be far more aggressive in game two--hope SA responds well!

I don't think Portland can play well enough on D to keep up. That's why I don't think this series will be all that close. Although, the Dallas series shouldn't have been that close either.

Rick Carlisle doesn't get nearly as much credit as he deserves for that. He coached his arse off all series long making it difficult for SA with less talent.

Stotts is a Carlisle understudy, though. I'm sure he's been on the phone with Rick constantly. Wouldn't be surprised to see a few monkey wrenches on defense from the Blazers in the coming games that are eerily similar to what Dallas was doing.

Seriously...frick

There's talent in the Land Down Under

Steven Adams, Aron Baynes, Patty Mills.

Although SA really is a bigger market than folks give it credit for

In regards to 'market' - I'm referring to public advertisement and $$ marketing.

Miami's metro is like 400k, but their marketing is ways above yours. (you guys are like 1.4mil)

I know, I know how it's calculated. I have a marketing degree

Sometimes folks think SA is some small town, though, because it's a smaller advertising market. That's all.

You're right, of course

I don't care what stats you or anyone else pulls out, San Antonio is a tiny market. Especially when you factor in national reach, disposable income and the demographics. The good news is that doesn't matter in the NBA as much right now because people are finally appreciating The Spurs for the way they play the game! They are like the Duke of the NBA and there are A LOT of people who are cheering for that these days! Go Spurs!!!!!!

IF the Spurs win it all this year (BIG "if," of course), I could see Timmy and Manu retiring. Pop's still got some coaching left in him, I feel like, and Parker's not as old as TD and Ginobili--he's just been playing since he was really young.

Compared to most NBA markets it is tiny, unless you count towns over an hour away!

"market" and "city" are different terms. I was just differentiating between the two

San Antonio is the 7th largest city in the U.S. by population. Not small potatoes in that department.

I think you and I are talking about different things. Sorry I didn't make myself more clear earlier
