Now the top 3 seeds in the MAAC Tourney have been eliminated as they have lost to teams who had to play in. #6 seed, Fairfield (15-15, 9-9) just beat #3 seed, Niagara (19-12, 12-6) 90-77.

#4 seed, Iona (17-13, 11-7) vs. #5 seed, Manhattan (14-16, 9-9) is coming up in about a half an hour. It will be the first tourney game for both as neither had to play in.

No love lost between these two teams who have won the last five MAAC Championships. Iona (the 2017 MAAC Champ) has won 3 and Manhattan 2.

Go Gaels!!!

I have a friend who loves college football, but won't watch any college hoops, and even he stumbled across a Michigan game and said "Michigan has some big nazi who hits every shot."

#4 seed, Iona, still alive to 3-peat in the MAAC after beating #5 seed, Manhattan, 72-60.

The Gaels will take on #9 seed, St. Peter's, in the semi-final tomorrow @ 7:00. We beat them twice during the regular season and, as with Manhattan, we need a sweep to stay alive in the Tourney.

The second semi-final game is between #7 seed, Quinnipiac and #6 seed, Fairfield @ 9:30 tomorrow.

The winners will play for the title on Monday @ 7:00 pm on ESPN.

Go Gaels!!!

msutiger, that was a great game. I have said that if the game was 2 seconds shorter or 2 seconds longer Iona would have won. Both teams played very well that day and I pulled for LaTech the rest of the NIT. It was, indeed, a shame that Smith suffered that ankle injury. He was quite a spark on the floor.

I was hoping that perhaps that game might have started a home/home series between the schools. But smaller schools don't have the budgets that the bigs have.

Now that Wisconsin is officially eliminated, I’ll be rooting for my other alma mater (grad school), Loyola, and the homestate squad, Vermont.

Had a ride to St Louis this morning, but I passed. It might be more fun to feed and drink by campus anyway.

Go Ramblers.

You aren’t lying. That half court heave still almost went in

But a home and home would’ve been some kind of fun. Unfortunately the budget isn’t there for that and we suck now
