Color me skeptical on Randy retiring... why... bc I've followed pro wrestling too long to believe anyone.. plus homie got 3 exwives, alimony is a b

I'll be rooting for Randy too but just don't see how he can stop Machida in this fight. The only way is to try to steal a decision with a boring fight holding Machida against the cage. I don't see him taking Machida to the ground because Machida's takedown defense might be the best in the division. Randy's chin isn't all that great right now either so I'll say Machida tko win late first round or early in the second.

Fighting Matt Hughes is really too much to ask at this point? Let them fight. Matt will kill him again and be done with it. I don't see an issue with it.

I don't see any reason why the UFC owes Royce anything. A 44 yr old one-dimensional fighter, who got busted for PEDs in his last fight...... 4 yrs ago.

Royce is still a legend in the sport and deserves some respect. The problem is the UFC probably knows that Royce can't beat anyone in the UFC today. In MMA today it is very difficult to be a one dimensional fighter especially a bjj user. The only people who can be one dimensional are wrestlers.

As big of a Royce Gracie as I am, I hope to never see him fight again. He would have to be hand-fed some garbage scrub with limited skills, similar to what they're doing for Herschel Walker right now.

Really? His family started UFC. His fight with Matt Hughes, as lopsided as it was, generated a ton of interest to the UFC right when they were getting popular again. I have no idea why you wouldn't let Royce fight Hughes who is considered past it himself at this point. I still think you could market this fight, so why not?

Considering it is BJJ he is known for, I don't think the 44 yr old thing is that big of a deal.

It wasn't in UFC and it was in a win against another fighter who was at least respected at the time. Guys get busted for PEDs all the time and it usually isn't much of an issue.

I wouldn't want to watch Royce fight anyone now

Neither would anyone NOT named Palm Beach Tiger.

I heard Jardine wants to move to 185 and Marquart to 170. Jackson must want his fighters skinny and weak. Can't see either of them making that weight.

They are both definitely dropping weight, it's confirmed.

Marquart is HUGE for 185. He'll gas after the first.

His family started a company to promote Gracie JJ in America. All they did was give it a name and a cult following. It was Dana & the Fertita brothers that made the UFC a household name.
Don't get me wrong, I love Royce. But I agree, the UFC owes him nothing.

I could give two shits about watching Royce fight and I think Matt would kill him just like he did the first time. You are wrong if you don't think that fight would generate interest though. Its not like Royce is punch drunk like Randy or Liddell now. I just don't see why it would be a big deal to give him that fight if he wants it. How would Dana be losing in any way? Matt isn't going to be contending for a title again.

What sense would it make to have a rematch. The first fight wasnt even close. Royce hasn't done anything since then, other than getting busted for PEDs and sitting on his arse for 4 years. Why not just bring back Ken Shamrock too?? What about Don Frye? Dan Sevren? Since the UFC owes all of their legendary fighters... Let's just set up a seniors division and they can fight to their death, literally.
Randy isn't punch drunk... Just old.
CroCop, Chuck, Ken Shamrock, Andrei Arlovski, Gary Goodridge are what would be considered "punch drunk".

Randy is my favorite fighter, but he can not take shots like he used to. Punch drunk might not be the correct term, but you get what I mean.

You know good and damn well that Gracie hasn't fallen as far as those guys.

In a fight he won against the "Gracie Killer". Look I'm not saying Royce would have a good chance in this thing, but he isn't garbage at this point either. Him fighting would generate a lot of interest regardless of how hardcore fans feel about it.
