I would never do anything close to a straight swap of Howard for Bynum if I were the GM of the Magic.

The teams that Howard and Paul have been rumored to go to will not be able to just sign them as a FA. They Magic and Hornets should get better deals than that if they end up havingto trade their players away.

Just curious, what would be some examples?

LA, Chicago, New York, New Jersey, Boston, Orlando (for CP3), and maybe Miami are the only teams that would likely be the only trade partners for these players because they won't sign an extension elsewhere.

Not sure what other teams could have put together a better deal than getting Bynum. But who knows.

That's a lot of bidders that should help increase the price.

Since most of those teams are well over the cap they need assistance in landing a superstar.

In the case of the last big offseason the desired teams had plenty of financial room to basically take away the leverage of the player's former team.

The only other possibility IMO would be if the Celtics would trade Rondo and KG for Dwight and Jameer. Otherwise, they won't get a better deal than the one the Lakers can put together.

The Nets could probably put a decent package together centered around Lopez also.

I don't see why the Magic shouldn't be able to get a bidding war going between atleast the Nets, Lakers, and Celtics.

The problem is that Lopez only makes 2.4 mil next year and Howard makes 16.6.

The best package the Nets could put together up front would be something like this.

Of course, a three way trade would make it more possible or if the Nets sign a few more tradable assets.

The Nets could also sign West this offseason as rumor suggest and then make a trade proposal centered around West/Lopez for Howard.

Then the Nets would have Williams and Howard for the future and the Magic would have a go to PF and a young C in their starting lineup. Obviously other things would have to be included in the trade.

lopez/west would be the pussiest 4-5 combo ever, possibly. they'll prolly get 13 boards/game between them

They should score a lot of points though.

I don't see why West would be considered a pussy though.
